Randy nodded, “Hopefully between the tricorder readings and blood work we won’t need images. But that, unfortunately is not my decision.” Alden had handled the stay in sickbay well, or at least better than expected. Randy didn’t want to push it. “Alright I’m going to run this all down to Elbbirt and grab you a tray.” He handed Alden his PaDD and the data disks Rand had left. Then he was gone.

Only to be back half an hour later with a tray and a data disk. “Your usual breakfast and from my overly doting sister, who thinks the four data disks she already left aren’t enough, today’s reports to alleviate your boredom. How’s the pain?” He asked seriously. They were now an hour past when Roman could have had more.

Randy

Everything had been caused by missed damage. Roman doubted the doctor would let him get away without being thorough. Randy handed him his PaDD and then left, and Roman spent the next half hour reading through reports. It was good in two ways: it felt normal to do, and it distracted him from his pain. He readjusted his ice packs, trying to get them to help more. Perhaps he’d ask Randy for new ones.

When Randy came back, he had a tray and another data disk. “She probably thinks if she keeps me busy enough I’ll not do anything like take a hike around the ship,” Roman said, reaching for the tray and the disk. To answer the question, “It hurts enough I won’t be attempting any more walks, and it’s making it difficult to focus. I don’t feel like it’s messing with my heart rate or at least not like it was, but what do I know?” He looked tense, like he usually did when the pain was bad, and he was making sure not to let it move. “Newer ice packs might help.”

~ Roman

Randy grabbed two new ones and passed them over, then he broke the capsule inside the old ones to get them cold again and handed them to him. “A little extra. Yeah walking probably isn’t your friend at the moment, but if you need to, but be careful, or page me.” Randy shook his head, “Yeah she probably hopes. But like I said…she knows…what it’s like. I’ll let you eat and I’ll be back for your session.”

Roman spent the two hours eating and then trying to focus on reviewing reports. He’d adjusted the ice packs how he liked them and now he was settled in and comfortable. When he’d finished with his tray, he set it aside and picked up the new data disk from Rand. By the time Randy was back, he’d made it through about half of the reports.

Randy left and returned about two hours later and set up the regenerator. It wasn’t usually painful, but this was not a normal injury either. He set the hypo next to him as he worked, but he didn’t give it to Alden unless he asked for it. In the middle of the session, a very exhausted and stressed Rand came back. She set her PaDD down looked at Randy and pointed a finger. “Sin aon fhacal bhuat. (Not one word from you.)” It had been…a long..miserable morning. She snagged the chair and sat down at the computer.

Rand and Randy

Regardless of the pain and if the regenerator made it worse, Roman was far too prideful to ask for the hypo. And it did hurt, but not like it had just after the neuro block was removed. It was more like, because his leg was already in a lot of pain the normal sensation the regenerator caused felt painful. About halfway through the session, Rand came back and Roman brightened. She already looked tired and stressed and her day was still just beginning. “Rough day?” He asked.

~ Roman

Randy glanced at Rand, but didn’t say anything. He was busy trying to corral the rabbit. It didn’t seem to like him too much, or more he thought Pipkin knew he was going to put her in her cage and so was staying just out of his reach. He didn’t want her hurt by the regenerator and she was insistent on sniffing around.

Rough day was an apt description. “I don’t like being late,” was all she said. Her ankle hurt and she was not telling Randy because he’d make her go to sickbay. What she needed to do was wrap it. But that meant taking her boot off and then Randy would want to know why, and so would Roman, and then she’d have to tell or be silent. And that wasn’t going to work with Randy. She should have wrapped it this morning, but she was late. She overslept! She turned on the computer…and that only should say she was out of sorts - she didn’t ask. Not that she needed to, but she always did. She let out a heavy sigh, “Randy for goodness sakes, get a treat and bribe her with it.” She got up and grabbed the box of treats off the bedside table, opened it, and then shoved one of them into Randy’s hand. Then she grabbed the tray off the bed and moved it to the table.

She’d taken the access ladders the whole morning because the lifts were too slow. She’d slid down one…her foot caught, and twisted. UGH. Then after getting Rogers reports prepped and met with her. She’d had to back track to the labs to help Franks. Who was seriously concerned by how late she was. Then…oh good lords…then she’d run into Scott.
