Roman stretched as Rand settled in, sitting in the chair near his bed. “I hope the day wasn’t busy for you,” he said. He still sounded groggy but as Randy had predicted he was waking up a little. He sat up a little bit more and looked at her.

“I like busy days. It means I’m useful.” Rand lifted one shoulder but smiled at him. It always came back to that - being useful. “I thought you might sleep some. Are you okay?”

Rand

“Then I hope it was busy,” said Roman and then he smiled too. He nodded and gestured vaguely to the shared wall between their quarters. “Randy gave me something, that’s why I’m so tired.” He reached over for her hand. He was comfortable and relaxed, he didn’t really need the comfort but he liked it anyway. He shuddered at the thought of Sickbay but he did miss how she’d laid against him while he was there.

“It was, but I’m glad it’s over now.” Rand nodded and slipped the boots off her feet. Randy was right, she looked good in them, but they were not something she wanted to try and curl into a chair with. “Your body is probably tired from everything too.” Rand reached over and took his hand. She much preferred how she’d laid with him in sickbay, but it was a little different being alone in his room. And this is how they’d always sat, him on the bed and her in the chair. She wasn’t sure if she should move, if he would want her to. Also he didn’t have the nerve block anymore and she didn’t want to hurt him. “Do you want anything?”
