[snip]The two NEs appeared as well, having finally figured out their attire. Rand was grateful to see they were male. She was starting to think that the whole team would be female and that could be problematic if there were specific gender roles. Hearing noise outside the transporter room, and the chief not having given anymore information, she looked at the Cpt. “Ma’am, team 2 is assembling outside.” Her not quite so blunt way of saying the clock was ticking.

Shirley was finishing up putting her jacket on and got her Yeoman’s hint, “I’m on it Ensign.” She then stepped onto the transporter pad and stood with good posture. Her eyes darted to the transporter chief to make contact, “Alright team one, off we go. Energize.”

With everyone assembled and prepared, as well as disguised the transporter chief sent the landing party on their way. As the transporter beam released them from its grip there was a brief unusual feeling of disembodied nausea that everyone would feel not normally associated with the reliable transporter effect. But as with anything it was so brief to probably not be anything unusual and worth giving a thought towards.
Looking around the group found itself in a thick pine and oak forest. As the transporter chief had noted earlier it was just beginning to show the first rays of sun rise to the east over the distant foggy mountains. Further it was a bit murky this morning and rainy, a steady and constant drizzle already starting to bead onto their clothes and supplies. Luckily the thick leathers and such everyone had staved off the worst of the drizzles’ effects for now.
Around them the sounds of an awakening forest were also heard, birds began to chirp here and there or take flight, distant hoots of some kind of unseen owl showed a last minute hunting by the bird on some unknown prey. The fading howl of one of the somewhat dangerous noted wolf packs in the region baying a warning against trespassers to their turf. But most of all just down the ridge and hill line where they stood the first wisps of morning fires and light began to dot the outline of outlying farms from the village of Krezk that was their target, also heard was the distant soft ringing of some kind of church bell.
Their two security NE escorts looked around, NE Bill armed with a little hand crossbow at present scanned about to the north, while his literal twin NE Bob armed with a pair of daggers scanned to the south. “..Seems like we’re alone for now, ma’am.” NE Bill reported after a brief area scan on his tricorder before hiding it away. “..Only signs of life we got on scans is down the hill to that village.” NE Bob chimed in doing the same. Though no sooner had this been stated by both when another distant baying cry of another wolf pack this one more to the north east some distance away reminded everyone there still could be unseen dangers afoot.

Rand reached into her shoulder bag and turned her tricorder on and set it to silent so it wouldn’t alert unexpectedly. The sound of the wolves told her they should probably get headed toward more populated areas. She stared out at the village and outlying farms and tried to spy the best way down. The drizzle was chilled and the clothes would repel it for awhile, but eventually it would soak through. She felt a bit sick having to travel through the rain in a forest....it reminded her of Kelmao. At least wolves weren’t the giant star-cats.
