Shirley sat at the head of the table in the conference room next to the computer reviewing Doctor Alwyn Yarwood’s personnel file. She sported her lime green colored duty uniform top accompanied by black pants and boots. She had made herself quite comfortable as she had her legs crossed casually and appeared to be focused on the task at hand. His record was quite impressive and she had an appreciation for his credentials. Perhaps Doctor Yarwood could be a potential future Chief Medical Officer, only time would tell. A few moments passed while she was in deep thought and she eventually rose to her feet and approached the communications panel on the door by the entrance to the room. She pressed the button and spoke in a calm tone,

=o= Doctor Yarwood, please report to the conference room. =o=

Alwyn was in his room when he heard the communication. On his monitor was displayed a surgical record of a successful antenna’s transplant on an Andorian subject, which he was reading to increase his xenobiology knowledge.

From the tone of the voice, Alwyn guessed it was the Captain. He stood up from his chair, before hesitating. Should I answer her?, he thought for a second. He then approached the communication panel and pressed the button: =o= Aye sir, I’m on my way. =o=
The doctor then walked out of the room, accompanied by the usual “whoosh” of the doors, and walked toward the turbo-lift.

After a moment, Alwyn arrived in front of the conference room. With his hand, he quickly brushed the front of his shirt and take a formal stance before announcing him. He then pressed a button next to the door, which ringed the chime.

Shirley raised her right hand as she pressed on the control pad button in an effort to open the door to the conference room and glanced upwards to meet Dr. Yarwood’s gaze all while providing the Doctor with a warm welcoming smile. Shirley gestured to the chair next to where she was sitting previously, “Hello there, it is good to finally meet you. Please take a seat Dr. Yarwood, before we begin, did you want anything to drink?” Shirley knew that she could simply contact her Yeoman if a drink was necessary. Rand was typically reliable and acted swiftly when she received requests. Shirley was in command long enough to know that it never hurt to be cordial when meeting new members of her crew. In fact, it was the first step in garnering their buy in for the future. Shirley walked towards her chair and took a seat next to the good Doctor. She waited for his response in regards to her drink offer and planned to continue on with the meeting afterwards. She wanted to ensure that the Doctor was in and out because she had an understanding that the medical team had been conducting more boarding physicals than usual. That reminded her that she was due for one herself and made a mental note of it as she had been procrastinating on that part of her duty.
