When she had stood up Rand had let go of his hand to steady herself, just incase her foot didn’t cooperate. She didn’t know how Roman managed to stay so calm when everyone now seemed to know. On one hand that meant if everyone knew and he hugged her or they were seen running together or, horror of horrors ha dinner in the galley it didn’t matter. On the other hand, if any of that happened everyone would be watching and Scott was never going to leave her alone and inevbly someone would say something and Randy would over hear....“Yes, very ready.” Rand wanted out of sickbay before Elbbirt decided to make her stay. She walked carefully, tempted to jog just to get to the nearest lift, but Roman would stop her and everyone would notice.
Rand
Looking calm when he wasn’t was something Roman had mastered a long time ago. He started walking too quickly, eager to leave, but adjusted his pace to match Rand’s. “The whole ship is going to know by tomorrow,” he predicted, muttering it mostly to himself. He didn’t think Elbbirt or the nurse would say anything, but he also knew they weren’t the only ones who noticed anything. He figured the words ‘focus on your job, not on my personal life’ would soon become very, very commonly spoken by him.

No one said anything as they left, but Rand felt like everyone was watching them. Of course Rand always felt like people were watching her. She didn’t try to keep up with Roman. She didn’t want to get fussed at before she got out of Sickbay. But she knew why he was rushing and if she couldn’t get out of Sickbay quickly at least he could. But he slowed down and waited for her. Rand didn’t say much the whole way to deck 3. She was physically drained from the treatment and just wanted to sit down with a blanket and ginger tea. A stop at her office to do reports left her with a message that they had been handled and to focus on her dr appt. “Guess I’m free for tonight.”
Rand
Roman walked with her up to deck 3, and he didn’t say much either. He smiled when he heard her reports were dealt with for the evening. “Well then, what would you like to do with your time?” He asked. They’d had dinner together just last night and he figured she might be tired after the appointment, so he wasn’t sure if she’d just want to go back to her own quarters.

Rand wasn’t up to doing much. She had an idea of what she wanted to do but didn’t know if he’d want to join her or not. First food though. Not only was she exhausted, apparently using the fuser really did exhaust her, she didn’t dream that, but she was hungry. “Should have gone to the galley first. I’m not walking all the way back.” And if he went and got enough for 2 now that just made it worse. Then she remembered, she was a yeoman, that meant her quarters had a small pantry incase the capt wanted food at odd hours. “I don’t have much but it’s something.” She led the way to her quarters and went inside. “Randy’s on duty till midnight.”
Rand
Roman, not thinking anything of it, was fine with going to the galley for both of them. But before he could say anything, she was leading him to her quarters and she went inside. Hesitating momentarily at the door, he said, “He better be, this is not how I’d rather Randy find out about the two of us.” He’d only been inside the Farquharson quarters once, and he looked quickly for a place to sit. Preferably somewhere that didn’t belong to Randy.

Rand looked at him kind of funny as he just stood there, then with a soft smile she pointed at the table and two chairs. One benefit of yeoman’s quarters - they rated a table space. Tiredly she teased him, “Calm down Romeo, the Capulets are not at home today.” She heated water for tea, soon the smell of his citrus tea and then the smell of ginger for her wafted the air. Then a tray appeared, bread and a small assortment of meats and cheeses and spreads, and then various fruits and veggies appeared. She set the cups of tea down and then sat. She’d been leaning heavily in the counter while she prepped. She wasn’t I’ll it was just the demands the fuser made on the body’s energy level. Or maybe it was the fact she’d better tell Randy before someone else did. “Not much, but I don’t think I can handle anything heavier. But if you want something from the Galley…”
Rand
Roman took a seat at the table. “It’s alright, I can get get something later if I’m still hungry.” He noticed her leaning on the counter, and it worried him somewhat, but he said nothing, he figured she was just really tired. He took his cup of tea and sipped it, he almost always drank his tea piping hot. “It’s been a longer day than I expected it to be.” He commented.

Rand nodded in agreement. “I wasn’t expecting to have to be in sickbay so long.” She didn’t apologize but she felt…upset over having waited 3 hours in sickbay for the bone fuser. It was supposed to be a quick visit that turned into forever. She sipped her tea…”Oh…ewwww..ugh.” She reached down very and plucked his cup from him and stood up. “I guess I wasn’t paying attention. I thought the water was hotter.” It was barely luke warm. She dumped the tea, both cups and started the water again, and sat back down while they waited.
Rand
He shrugged. “Sickbay always takes longer than you expect.” That was part of the reason he always called his yearly physicals a waste of time. The tea was… lukewarm. Not very good. But Roman didn’t say anything. He even took another sip of it before she plucked it out of his hands. “Are you sure you’re okay? You seem… A little out of it,” he said, after she sat back down. Rand almost never messed up the tea.
