It was about two days ago, the night before last, that Roman had confided in Rand about his… problem, and he’d quietly anticipated either her or Randy showing up and bringing it up ever since. But it hadn’t happened yet. Roman almost hoped it never happened at all, but of course that was why he’d asked Rand to do it instead of going himself. He would’ve never made it to Randy. There was no turning back either way. He’d avoided asking Rand for the tea last night in order to avoid talking to Randy.

It was all the more relevant as it was just past midnight and he’d been unable to catch more than a half hour or so of sleep… and he’d been trying since 2100. Captain Rogers was bound to notice if this went on. Or Rand would be forced to report it, it was quite literally her job to do so. He couldn’t avoid getting Rand’s help just to attempt to avoid what he’d asked her to do. And so, throwing on a pair of shorts and a shirt, he headed over to the door and knocked softly as he always did, trying to get Rand’s attention but not Randy’s.

Rand quietly opened the door, knowing who would be there. She looked up at him and nodded quietly. “Give me a few minutes to make the tea.” When he stepped away she closed the door and went to the kitchen. “Randy, you’re up.” It took a few minutes, but she had the tea ready and Randy’s drink of choice. He didn’t need to get sleepy, only Alden did. And Randy tended to be more sassy when he was tired. She handed her brother both cups, “Yours and this one is for Cmdr Alden.” She kissed her brother’s cheek, “Thank you.” and sent him next door.

Rand
