It was a week later, and the Sentinel finally dropped out of warp on the edge of the massive nebula known as The Aybss. already their sensor capacity was cut by half even from out here due to the inference. Warp travel could do doable but it would mean a slow going at lower warp speeds. Beyond the rich nebula gases about them, there was nothing else obvious about. Though in a strange superstious way the wisps of the massive nebula seemed to almost reach out as if to try to grab the Sentinel and draw it in. That was silly of course nothing like that could happen right?

E’usah glanced over at Quinn, they shared the same shifts on the bridge. She carefully checked their position on the nav computer and made a few adjustments to the main display screen. The Abyss awaited them out there, she looked at the main display, it was huge and somehow seemed menacing on a subliminal level. She wrapped her tail across her lower legs, and half turned to the Captain, “Ma’am, we’ve arrived. Current position is just on the edge of the nebula.” E’usah looked nervously over at Quinn sitting at the helm station.

Shirley provided E’usah with a slight nod of her head once in acknowledgement of her navigator’s indication of their arrive. Her eyes darted to the viewscreen as she focused on it for a few moments. The Nebula was a massive expanse that looked gorgeous in overall appearance. She definitely had looked forward to their arrival all week to begin charting an unknown are of space. Shirley rose to her feet, pivoted off of her back heel, and in an effort to face Roman directly, “Number one, scan the area to see if there are any planets in the nearby vicinity.” She shifted her feet back once again in direction of the viewscreen and said with a firm tone of voice, “Ensign E’usah, begin charting the Abyss based off of Number One’s findings here so that we will know our way around and Ensign Dagget, keep the Sentinel just past the edge of the nebula for the time being.” Shirley sat back down in her seat and pressed the shipwide communications button, “Crew, we have arrived at the Abyss, all departments remain on standby for their orders. Lieutenant Haadok and Lieutenant Cleolet report to the bridge.”

With a curt nod, Roman took his place at the bridge’s science station and began the scan for planet’s, looking for anything within the scanner’s range.

E’usah turned to her console and tapped in present location and coordinates and set the nav-computer to begin plotting their movements within the nebula, this information would also be available to the cartography section. She turned to the XO, “Commander, we’re all set to begin.”
