Side sim: Gym training

At 1900, Roman was headed to the gym with a duffel bag. In about ten minutes, he had changed into his traditional jiu jitsu uniform and in an additional ten minutes, he was warmed up and ready to go.

The gym was equipped with a training dummy and excersize mats. For the next half an hour without break, he trained, throwing kicks and punches at the dummy. Roman couldn’t practice throws or unbalancing techniques, but for now, the other moves were good enough. When he paused to rest, he was sweating and breathing hard as he stood, facing the training dummy.

At 1900 Rand had just finished evening reports with Rogers. After the last few weeks she felt strung out, stretched thin. She wanted to go for a run but the ship was just too busy at this hour. The likelihood of running into someone and getting hurt was too high. Rand headed to the gym instead. The edge was clear for warm up or cool down laps. Then maybe some endurance weight training would take the edge off.

Rand found a clear corner to stretch, she didn’t want another charlie horse. She did a slow steady jog for 3 laps and then opted for some strength building yoga. Until she got distracted, her attention drawn to the sight of Alden training. She was glad to see him there. She had no idea he knew any form of martial arts, but seeing him practicing made her smile slightly. That he was being active instead of pacing his quarters. And man, he looked good doing it…and she promptly lost her balance in a warrior pose, and blamed it on twisting her ankle wrong…

What was wrong with her?

Yeoman Rand

Roman hadn’t practiced in some time, his sleep disturbances had proven to be quite the distraction from his hobbies. But with Rand’s help he’d been feeling more like himself and practicing jiu jitsu was how he preferred to stay fit.

He hadn’t noticed Rand, his focus was on his training and that only. His rest finished, Roman began training once again, whaling on the dummy with martial arts moves he’d been taught during his school years.
