Finally the diagnostics report spat out its findings on the diagnostics panel nearby. =/\= Error in plasma flow regulation. Warp flow regulator 1a in port nacelle showing .15% degradation. Cause unknown, advise eyes on inspection or port nacelle from maintenance room port side nacelle.=/\= It said.

“Why is it always a decimal point?” Anders said, scratching his neck in that same way he always did when on a hard shift.

“I wasn’t talking to you,” Marcus mumbled, and turned to Karl, “Any ideas?”

Karl shrugged “I guess I have to inspect the bloody nacelle now” He shook his head and removed the device before turning to the younger man “When degradation goes beyond a decimal point things explode, or implode, perhaps both” He smiled as if the thought amused him “Well let’s head over to the Port nacelle, I’ll see if I can fix it and you might solve your mystery” Karl patted the Englishman on the shoulder as he moved on.

Marcus nodded and followed behind the young Engineer, always being careful to keep a hand near his phaser, “Who do we blame if the ship does explode?,” he chuckled.

Karl reached for the nacelle internal tube access door and opened it “It’s not the most comfortable place inside here, Nacelle repair work is not a favourite for us engineers” He said as he entered the tube and headed towards the aforementioned Warp flow Regulator.

Marc grinned, “Guard duty it is, aye aye.” Spinning on his heel and keeping a hand on his pistol, Marc took up a guarding stance.
