Scan diagnostics of the EPS tap revealed something most curious the power draw was almost rhythmic in quality. If he questioned to himself what it was most like he might have to say it was like a heart beat!

“I was unaware that Security did warp core maintenance” An accented voice said from behind the young Security officer. Behind him stood a tall man in his late thirties and the uniform of an Engineer, he was marked as a Non-Com, Senior Chief Petty Officer. In his hand, he held a box of repair tools. “Need some help, sir” He asked the young officer.

Marcus swung around, “Blimey, you frightened the life out of me, I could use an engineer’s touch on this lad.” The young Englishman extended a hand with a small grin, “No need for the sir, Ensign Marcus Anders, Marc to me friends.”

-Ensign Marcus Anders: Security Officer-

Karl cocked his head, an amused smile on his face “Well what’s going on then?” he asked the younger man.

Spinning back to look at the console, Marcus continued, “Well, the Bridge has been experiencing some strange power drains for the past few minutes, the duty Engineering officer then traced the signal back to this deck, sending me down here to investigate. Y’know, just in case someone’s been fiddling around where they shouldn’t.”

Karl blinked and cocked his head “Well then, lead the way” He said in a polite yet forceful manner, he’d been in Starfleet too long to waste time on what he considered idle conversation when something wasn’t working. The Warp engine still hadn’t revealed her.. his? They’re or its name to him, he hadn’t yet developed the right feel for it. A vexing thought.
