Ford continued swiveling his head as he scanned the mine entrance area. “Do you have hand lamps?” he asked their guide, and looked to the security guard as well. “I’d prefer backups in case the mine lighting fails. And wish we could attach the damn things to the rifles.” He muttered the last part, looking at the shining copper tubes of the powerful weapon, mostly useless in the dark.

”..Yeah we got lamps, also hover light drones just inside the mine you can activate. If they’re still there I mean and operating.” The first said.

After an answer about the lamps, he focused on the security guards. “Do you feel like you see movement during the day, when it’s not raining?”

”..Saw movement day and night over the past weeks ever since this mess started.” The second said while the first confirmed nodding.

Cloelt chirped up “Sir. I might be able to jerry rig a way to get the light attached, it wouldn’t be 100% secure. But I might be able to mount it on the top side casing.” she said trying to help. While she waited to hear from Ford she peered into the mine. Her eyesight was far superior to humans so maybe she’d be able to see something the other couldn’t.

Something maybe humanoid, but ‘slithery’, that laser weapons passed through, and were active day and night? Roman found himself quite stumped. He’d never heard of anything quite like that. “Let’s hope we get a look at these things before long,” he said.

Rand wandered around the entrance of mines, letting her tricorder take readings and record the conversations around her. Making her way back around, eventually coming back around to where Ford and Alden were standing. Muttering to herself at the readings and the conversation. “This place is huge, should split up or get another team down here…” She wasn’t really talking to them, more trying to anticipate what they would decide to do so she could contact Sentinel if needs be.

On her trip around the mine outsider nothing stood out on scans. Splitting up might be a way to cover more ground but it also carried risks

Anderson didn’t think splitting up would be a good idea, especially given how many people had apparently gone missing down there. But it wasn’t his decision to make, so he stayed quiet.
