Sensing the new Captain’s nervousness, Amber smiled behind him at her comm station and reassured him. “The storm is enough to alter course a bit, but not bad enough to have to delay for a long period of time, Sir.” She kept the comm lines open to be sure he would hear anything at the moment it was relayed.

The Captain looked to his communications officer and smiled, nodding once and settled into his chair a little less statue-like, her words clearly making a bit of a difference though it wouldn’t change his thought that he’d rather be in the shuttle than on the bridge something he’d have to get used to.

Rand’s job, as far as a landing party went, was to record all necessary information for any reports and to maintain communication with the ship. And considering how ‘unhappy’ the captain was with their slight delay she thought it prudent to let him know they had arrived. =C=Landing party to Sentinel. We have a landing party standing by just in case you need back up but i suspect you’ll have it all under control, Carmichael out=C= Elijah stood from his chair “Keep us in geo orbit above the away team, I’ll be in my ready room, contact me immediately if there is a development.” There was no need for Elijah to hang around waiting for bad news, or he hoped good news.

Sitting at his post, Kohana made minor adjustments to keep the Sentinel in a synchronous orbit above the Sigma 9 colony. . . .

With the orbit locked in the auto pilot could handle the rest of keeping them stable. The storm above and around the colony and mining sites was strong but not unduly so with rain and lightning. Scans of it showed it would pass probably in the next 3-5 hours give or take.

=C= Rand to Sentinel. Lt Fordham would like 7 (ooc: that’s how many on landing party by my last count but if that is wrong please correct the number) of the copper tubed type 3 phaser rifles beamed down to us. Lt Cmdr Alden would like scans of the surface looking for life signs in the mines that are nearby the colony (ooc: it didn’t say exactly where just near by so I’m specifically referring to the new mines that Bor said they had just opened and where the problems are), as well as any chemical analysis that can be done and geological scans as well to give the team and idea of how stable the mines are before we enter them.=C=
