From the engineering station, a somewhat irritated voice spoke up, although the speaker did not turn to face the room.

“I am afraid you will be unable to use the transporters, Captain. My team have been working on them for the last two days. Of course, had we been granted advance access to primary systems, as I requested to the Admiral three weeks ago, then this issue might not have occurred.”

Elijah could feel the Vulcans annoyance from his position, “Yes well Commander, unfortunately, they were beyond our control you know how those starbase engineers get . Its not all to often they get to play around with a new toy, the dont like to share”

Silence resumed. Followed a few moments later by a murmured, “Co-operation appears to be a task wholly outside most of the Federation’s grasp.”

• Lt Cmdr T’Pria (CE)

The lift doors swished open and Ford released the handle inside. He stepped onto the outer ring of the bridge, eyes sweeping, taking in the current crew before he approached the captain’s chair.

“My men are ready and will meet us in the transporter room - or the shuttle bay,” he glanced to T’Pria, having heard grumbles from some of the engineering crew about the issues with the transporters. “…at your order,” he told the captain. He lifted a case. “I have weapons for the rest of the team.”

“If I may, Cap,” he said, moving the case to hold in both hands before his waist. “I’d suggest a complement from each division for the investigation. Science to review evidence, medical in case we find injured - or dead. An engineer will be helpful in the mines.”

COS Ford

Elijah stood up and looked around the bridge, “Very well Mr Ford, Ensign Cleolet, Doc Hudson, his surgeon the one with the long name Ensign Konstantinovn , Lieutenant Commander Alden and Ensign Anderson will accompany you” he paused, “Oh and take my Yeoman she can report directly to me with any communications you require” He looked to the two Officers Alden “I dont suppose you have any objection letting Mr Ford here take the lead.”

He nodded very well, “Lt Commander you’re free to join them but I suspect you’d be more interested in getting our transporters up and running.”

“If there is nothing else landing parties report to the shuttle bay and depart when you’re ready we’ll monitor the situation form here.” And with that Elijah sat down, he didn’t know how he felt about sending his Yeoman but he felt like she could be his eyes and ears on the ground, he also wanted to see how she performed away from the Yeomans role.

The screen faded and soon up came the colony Administrator Bor came up. =/\= Ah Sentinel good to have you arrive so promptly. Things are tense down here enough for our Constable trying to keep the mines running while still keep the civilians safe and calm. Will you be beaming down shortly?=/\= He asked hopefully.

Elijah returned to the centre of the bridge, still standing, =^= We got here as soon as we could and our landing parties have already started to prepare to leave, however, in our hasty departure our transporters are not working so they will be arriving in shuttles. Do you have a location they can touch down?=^= There was no point sending them down there without a destination.

Bor replied a second or so later. =/\= Of course, we got a landing pad just outside the main colony administration building. I’ll clear the landing site for your arrival. =/\= He said.
