Rand was already deep in the reports that she was compiling. “Toodles Randy,” she mumbled as she read. She was sitting at the computer looking for the following information: all information you can find on the Sigma System dating back the last five years as well as the current precious ore and mineral mining facilities.

For Rand checking the basic records of their destination they would find the colony on Sigma 9 was your run of the mill mining colony that had sprung up when the simple precious ore and metals mining rig had expanded from family growth. It was home to about 950 souls at last report about a month ago from a Federation mining freighter doing a pick up. Check on the Sigma 9 system was pretty run of the mill. Four planets, a pair of small asteroid and cometary fields, and not much else. Nothing really stood out as being flight wise dangerous.

Further information packets were sent from Command they were outlined as follows:

-Sigma 9 Mining Consortium History and Service
-Sigma 9 Senior Personnel Records and Service
-Sigma 9 Survey Scans
-Known Stellar Traffic and Shipping Information (Past 3 months)

These though probably would be best dispersed or opened by the senior staff in a briefing.

Rand sighed, but she supposed she was only an ensign after all. She transferred the information to two PaDDs, one for the CO and one for the XO. She transferred the files to data tapes that the captain could open later. She picked up her mug and sipped it....”Ah Randy you are a gem. How did you get this on board?” She looked around…oh right he left. She grabbed the equipment, her coffee and headed out to the mess to meet Randy.

She stepped out of the lift and down the hall to the mess. It was about 0445 now. “Randy? You almost done?” she called out as she walked in and grabbed an apple from the counter and munched on it. “The coffee is amazing. So what did you make the XO for breakfast and is there extra?”

Randy had been very tempted to put on the Chef’s hat and play it up but he wasn’t expecting an audience and simply hummed a little ditty as he worked. He heard the doors and figured it was one of three people. Some random crewmember who was going to try to place an order. The actual chef who was going to be rather cross with Randy for being back there in the first place. Or his sister. As she rounded the corner he smiled and nodded towards three plates on the tray. “Flat cap coffee, black, and a white sesame seed bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon for the Captain. “Earl grey tea and two slices of toast with sliced soft-boiled eggs for the XO, and 2 arepa de huevos each for us.” He said as he finished cleaning up his area and headed out to take the tray. “So sis what do you have on those tapes? Anything exciting?”

Ensign Randy

“One tea and one coffee every morning. Well at least we won’t risk confusing them. As for the tapes I have no idea. Basic reports I would guess, but I’m not high enough rank to open them. Bugs me though. I mean I need my reports to be complete for the captain. I’m gave him a really impressive report on the senior staff. This makes me look bad.” She was close to pouting, and Rand didn’t pout which told Randy how stressed this was making her. She turned to the third plate, “Arepa de huevos?! Randy!” She hugged him as he came out of the kitchen. “Thank you.” It was her favorite and Randy made it just like Chiich did. She dug in quickly but careful of her uniform. She grabbed two trays, on each she placed the PaDD she had prepared, then tapes, coffee, bagel, and coffee on one, and tea and toast with eggs on the other. “The PaDDs have their morning reports also. They have to read and sign off on them.”
