USS Sentinel
Side-sim: Hand to Hand Training (all are welcome)
Ford entered the gymnasium and paused, eyes sweeping the mostly-empty area before he nodded. He crossed to one end of the room and dropped a large net bag there. He had scheduled this as an “open” session of the hand-to-hand combat trainings he did for his security personnel, hoping some of the other crew would take it upon themselves to improve their skills, potentially helping to keep themselves alive.
He did a few stretches, some hip twists to limber up his back, bounced on his toes to loosen up his calf muscles. He was wearing a relaxed off-duty t-shirt and loose pants; no specific uniform. A couple of people came in, dressed similarly, and he nodded in greeting. “Just pick a spot anywhere you can comfortably hear me,” he told them. “The room is ours for the hour.”
Early, he thought, glad to see some were serious about their duties as Starfleet officers. I’ll give it a few more minutes before I start.
