“I’d prefer not to get into a shooting match with Klingons of the Mirror Universe after we just arrive and have a dodgy computer system, but I’d also prefer to not be here. Helm, take us through the rift if we can, lets hope the sides aren’t solid. Mr Scholz,” Dante nodded at the XO, “Let’s go. If anybody has any ideas, share them now. Shields up, Mr Colter lets see if we can keep control of our weapons shall we.”
Captain Knight, CO
Nodding back to the Captain, Yuri took seat on his beloved chair he used to know for not too long. He looked over the entirety of the room and things were messed up and chaotic “I don’t feel like we will easily get over these pesky Klingon…” he gave Dante a dubious look.
IC: “Shields up, Skip,” Colter replied as his hands hovered over the firing controls
Teller began scanning as they cleared the rift. There would have to be an escape course.
Graham
Sha had already given up her only idea of putting herself or another Klingon from the ship on the Captain seat to make the ship less ‘target worthy’. She hoped someone else came up with something as well. The idea of becoming a slave, or worse, at the hands of her kin from another universe made her skin crawl. She glanced up at Royal and wondered absently when they would be able to sit and have a nice quiet dinner together again. Oddly, that was the first thing that came to her mind.

SecurityAs soon as they cleared the rift, Colter targeted the two Klingon ships with what phasers they had left. He watched the tactical display in front of him, watching what the birds were doing.
An idea came to him as he waited. “Captain, in this Mirror Universe there should be alternate versions of each of us. That could possibly mean, that Saracen had a comparable version of Lt. Dalton that was also integrated into the ships computers. When the ISS Saracen blew up, that Dalton may have sensed the USS Saracen and transported her consciousness here. That would explain loss of control. Our Lt. Dalton may be fighting her for control as we speak.”
Colter (CIO)
OOC: Somebody give that man a fishy stick and a gold star!
IC: As the Saracen travelled through the rift and settled into the Mirror Universe, the computers seemed to settle somewhat although systems were not responding as quickly as they should but, communications throughout the ship were restored. This also meant that Grahams scans would be more complete. Ahead of them the Klingon ships seemed to block any escape and the Saracen had emerged in amongst the wreckage of the ISS Saracen. Residual energy from Tricobalt weapons as well as now, sensors indicated a massive Antimatter explosion had occurred that matched a Warp Core breach. The rift behind them was unstable and closing but several other ‘weak points’ were identifiable.
The Engineering Station immediately sprang to life with alarms warning of a power surge in the Warp Core and plasma being vented to control the surge. With that a new problem seemed to emerge, the ships shields were fluctuating and unstable.
Dante turned and looked at Colter for a moment. The possibility that they had two Daltons in the computer system was not a pleasant thought, especially with one of them being from the Mirror Universe. “We’re not exactly in a position to lock our computer system down,” Dante said looking back at the view screen. The Klingon ships had both completed their turns and were closing with the Saracen again, weapons armed. Sensors indicated they were in fact trying to scan the ‘new’ ship that had appeared right where the ISS Saracen had been destroyed. “Reinforce forward shields as much as we can,” Dante ordered, then opened the Comm to Engineering, relieved at least that communications were back for now.
=/\= Engineering this is the Captain, report. We have entered the Mirror Universe and two Klingon ships are closing with us. What’s going on down there? =/\=
Waiting for an answer, Dante looked at Sha. “We need time, lets try it your way but if they start shooting, you get back to your station. Take the Command seat Lieutenant.”
The commander was not happy about the plan, but as some says: sometimes you just need lot of luck. As things were moving, Yuri looked over the Captain and then to the Lieutenant “Come on, Sha. Come here, don’t be shy…” he nervously smiled. The Executive Officer had his ranks, his title, but the role grip was yet to be gained should have had stayed in engineering..
At Colters console a face appeared. The woman’s electric blue eyes were familiar but her hair was much shorter, her face full of anger. “Give me the weapons,” the woman said to Colter, “and I will destroy them.”
Captain Knight, CO
“No thanks, blue eyes. I prefer to keep the weapons in my own hands,” Colter replied to the faux Cori. If he could keep her occupied, maybe that would give their Lt. Dalton a chance to boot this from the system. “How’d you get onto this ship anyway. That’s quite a jump for yours to mine.”
Hopefully, Dalton would sense his tactics and she would be able to regain some control.
The Captain’s acceptance of her plan hit Sha like a brick. “Ye… Yes Sir…” She recovered quickly and moved to the center chair. A silent prayer going up to whatever gods her ancestors on both sides would listen.
Sitting in the CO’s chair wasn’t anything new to her, in reality. She sat in it many nights on third shift as acting bridge officer. But those had been benign nights of no activity other than tale regaling with those also on the mid shift. This time, she was taking the reins, so to speak. She took a deep breath, and glanced around the room. “I’m going to contact them, announce us as ourselves. They will know the signature of the ship fairly easily, Sir,” she glanced to Knight to explain why she wasn’t going to lie.
“I was going to admit we were torn here thru the rip and want to get back to our system because we were in battle to acquire another ship. I won’t mention the Council or the Federation until we know which side we are dealing with. And if forced, we can use the word ‘alience’ in place of it. Is that acceptable, Sir? And do you have any other orders?” The last thing she wanted was a follow my lead scenario where everyone when opposite directions.
Ush’ast Rah
Security (Acting CO hoping we aren’t obliterated)“The Klingon’s have us boxed in.” He glanced at the tactical map. “We don’t have a clear exit course.” He instead started scanning the Klingon ships. It wouldn’t be ideal to start shooting at the good guys.
=/\=Cori here, Captain. We’re dealing with a power surge that’s threatening the warp core. And it appears there’s a Mirror version of… me, that somehow has access to our systems and is fighting our efforts to take back control. I do not have full acces.=/\= Hopefully he’d understand the delicateness of the situation.
~Corinne Dalton
“Maybe we should parley.” Graham offered. “Klingons aren’t the same here as they are in our universe. They have to know something weird is going on, since they just smoked the other Saracen. I’m not a huge fan of shooting the good guys.”
Graham CSO
Sha glanced around. No one had opposed her idea, so she nodded. “Ok, let’s see if Corinne can get on the good side of the other ‘self’ in the computer. If she’s mad at being dropped into us, she could be an ally once she realizes we aren’t the ones who did it. Don’t need another rogue incident. Ok, if no objections, I’m gonna open comms and see if I can remember my Klingon ‘lack of manner’.” She laughed and glanced at Royal for a shot of support and then at the Captain for their readiness.
Sha
Ummm… aCO?“Captain Sha, whenever you are ready.” Said this, the XO waited the Real Captain to say something before proceeding. Whatever was going to happen Yuri felt a huge weight on his shoulder but felt that Sha was going to hold an even greater responsibility. He took a deep breath, looked over the main screen and almost chuckled of joy Now, I am ready.
Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer
“It’s now or never, Sha. I’m not going to be able to keep control of weapons much longer!!”
Colter (CIO)
(leaving space for assumed ‘go’ from CO)
Sha took a deep breath. “Comms… open a channel.” She waited till she got the nod that she was on and her voice rose slightly as it steadied into her ‘training’ cadence. For being half Klingon, there was still a shift in her. Her normally human soft like face edged to accentuate her ridges and her brows furrowed. There was an aura to her now of warrior that few, save Royal, had seen since her return. Many would claim she looked furious. Those who knew here would simply respond, ‘She is Klingon’.
=^=This is the Captain Ush’ast Triton of the USS Saracen. Who am I speaking to?=^= She knew didn’t know enough of what was going on in this Universe to ask why they were being targeted. Last thing she wanted was to be shot for asking why. She was targeted, they were seen as hostile, she’d take it in stride like they were.
