Off the Lounge the oft forgotten ships barber shop was awash with freshpaint and an actual barber pole hung in the Corridor. It was brightly lit, colored in Starfleet standard colors with multiple veiwers showing sports and politics quadrant wide. There were three chairs but only one had the tools of the trade arrayed nearby. There were several comfortable chairs for witing and astack of magizine padds for reading. A coffee machine provided a heady aroma of real coffee brewing. There were glasses on the barber shelf that hinted other refreshments might be available if asked for.The lone occupant was a kindly looking gentleman in tans and browns beneath a long khaki colored button sweater that was open, he appeared in his middle to older years, soften by age, but still basically fit.

The doors to the shop opened and in walked a human male, probably in in mid to late twenties. He was a big specimen, well over six feet in height and pushing a good three hundred pounds… and it wasn’t a soft build either. Set atop the broad shoulders and well muscled frame was a head that looked more like something seen on a statue than on a living, breathing person. He was handsome, but not in a refined manner. His face showed that he spent time outdoors, and his nose would show to a trained observer that it had been broken… probably more than once. It was as if someone had distilled the concept of ‘Blue Collar’ to it’s purest form and then made a man out of it. His build and demeanor seemed an odd fit for the blue uniform of the Medical and Science Sections that he wore, but the Lieutenant Commander pips on his collar showed that this young man was an anomaly in more ways than one. That being said, the face also held a smile that seemed genuine and friendly, and bright blue eyes held a look of friendly mischievousness. His blonde hair looked as if it should have usually been cut short, but it had obviously not been tended to in few weeks.
The big man looked around and saw the lone occupant and said “Hope you are open. I could use some cleaning up, if you have the time.”, his voice rolling out in a beautiful and smooth Scottish brogue.

Lews laughed for a second, “Well I’ll be Robin Hood, Little John you are real” came the reply in fluent gaelic, with a lowland fens twist of Welsh, “Pint or a tidy Mr. Sinclair?” Lews asked turning the chair and lowering it as far as it would go. Then he toed open a well hidden refrigarator, that looked like any other cabinet. as he stepped over to start the towel warmer and the wash sink. He looked over the giant for a second it was an appraising glance that was at odds with the softer appearance, it spoke of experience and skill, the quickly submerged into kindly blue eyes.

A huge smile washed across the Lieutenant Commander’s face, and in perfect gaelic came “Thank god. Someone who speaks properly for a change.” and with a glance at the opened fridge “Pint if you please, Mr… ? Sorry, new yet and haven’t met everyone.” he added, wondering if his arrival was either the subject of ship’s scuttlebutt or if there was more to the barber than haircuts and hidden liquor cabinets.

Lews laughed again, grabbed a frosted mug and poured a Guiness for the Counselor which was notkep in the refridgarator it was room temp in a cold glass the way beer was intended to be served. “Anaeawd Llewelyn Iarnuuocon, but Lews(Loose) is eaiser and I am new as well just transferred over from SB 257 at the start of the repairs” Lews continued in Gael, since it seemed the large man with hands that could grind an englishmans bones into his bread liked it. “I also bartend next door, and theres a kettle of stew on if you can find the kitchen.” As he passed the pint across to the Commander. “No need for the Mister, thats for Warrants and Nameless Ensigns, I am simple and plain man doing what he loves.”

Sinclair smiled, took the pint with a nod of thanks, and said “A simple and plain man who cooks, tends bar, speaks proper Gaelic, knew I spoke it as well, and knows who I am before I have even been fully checked in to assume my duties?” and he cocked his head to the side a bit and the mischievous twinkle in his eye intensified. “Sure, Lews. Whatever you say.” he added with a friendly laugh. While it was true that Royal was the new ship’s Counselor; but his previous incarnation was as the Chief Security Officer of a star ship, so he knew an understatement when he heard one. “You know, : Sinclair said, still in Gaelic, “I am willing to bet real money that you and I are going to get along very well. And if you are the bartender at the Lounge, am I correct in assuming that you run that particular establishment as well?” and took a sip of the nectar of the gods.

Lews shrugged, “It is often said the measure of another man is how much he thinks like you, and or agrees with you. As for knowing whom you are Mr. Sinclair. The rumor mill is fast, and dauting on a ship this size. You are a larger than life person, that stands out, I doubt there is another counselor of human stock near Eighty percent so big. And sometimes it is easy to play the odds. And yes sir indeed a I do, just finished a major refit, you should give it a tour, no lounge like her in any ship, in any fleet in the entirety of the federation.” Lews stated it was a matter of pride that he had gotten this feat accomplished and would be serving the morale of the crew.
