Ella shrugged, “She was different, its difficult to describe someone who appears on a monitor screen. She seemed Human enough but there’s no escaping the fact as you say ‘she’s a ghost in the machine’ but overall I liked her.” The two continued their walk down the corridor in relative silence stopping every so often as they checked the security of a door or Jeffries tube latch. “So what’s you’re story then?” She asked after a few more minutes of silence.

Quinn shrugged. “Not too much to say. It’s my third year out of the Academy, and this is my first posting. Nothing too crazy has happened, though I heard stories of some of the previous incidents. Apparently things like time-travel and zombies,” he said with a gleam in his eye.

The thought of time travel excited Ella to her core, Zombies however not so much. To her zombies wheres something out a bad old Earth cult classic, not something, she felt like facing in real life. “Well, I think I’d like a semi-exciting first mission. Maybe negotiating peace on a planet or something like that, I’m certainly not ready for the brain eating undead.” She joked as they reached corner a Jeffries tube wide open. “Hmm, maybe engineering works?”

Quinn frowned slightly. “Probably. Or just someone begin forgetful. That happens more often than not.” He moved closer, with some amount of caution and crouched down to peek inside and see if there were tools or other signs of someone working down here.”
