: Gavain nodded slightly, knowing the contents of the message but briefly pretending that he was unaware. He took a seat, then tilted his head at the human Captain. “What is this message you speak of?” He asked. “I noticed a message that was sent from my world. Am I in trouble?” He asked with a small smile, trying to communicate that his words contained a modicum of humor. It was hard to communicate humor to humans. They had different ways of speaking things like that.

: Dante looked at the lizard man thing for a moment, noticing the lift of his mouth as he asked if he was in trouble. It could have been a smile, or maybe a smirk, or even that animalistic baring of teeth against danger, he couldn’t quite tell. “Oh I doubt it is anything like that” he began, turning the screen around so that Gavain could read the message for himself. “How do you feel about the Saracen attending these celebrations and the crew taking some shore leave on your planet? We have the time available, and after being stuck in the 21st century I am sure the crew would enjoy a little more down time.” : Captain Knight CO
Having only skimmed the message before, Gavain took a closer look at it now, reading each word with increasing interest. Once his perusal of the text was complete, he leaned back and nodded. “It sounds like a grand adventure,” he chuckled. “Not many non-Galdori travel to our planet. It’s not exactly the height of vacation-destinations, although we do have some unique landscape”
“I think that it is a wonderful idea, and I will personally be quite happy to visit my home for the first time in a few years. Shore leave to a planet so far from the core of the Federation isn’t always the easiest task,” the corner of his mouth turned up, but there was a sadness in his eyes.

“Well, we shall have you there in plenty of time for the celebrations, and I for one look forward to seeing those unique landscapes” Dante said, then stood and adjusted his tunic. “Lets be on our way then, I see no reason to continue on our current course while we could shave some extra time from the journey by heading to Galdor now.”

He moved around the desk and nodded, showing Gavain that he could return to his post, once through the doors and back to his chair he sat down and brought up the status display on his arm rest.

“Helm, change course to Galdor, we are about to take some shore leave on Lieutenant Gavains home planet and partake in some celebrations” he announced to the Bridge crew. “Lieutenant Gavain, please plot the quickest course to Galdor.”

“Yes sir!” Gavain rushed out of the captain’s ready room with perhaps a little more excitement than he should be showing as an officer. But he couldn’t help it! Home, finally, after so long.

He plotted the course quickly, sending it to the helm and letting his feet tap noisily on the floor as the ship slipped smoothly into warp.

“Lt Gavain” Dante said, sitting back in his chair and nursing a fresh cup of coffee, “how long until we make Galdor?”
