She matched his grin. “Sounds like a person I’d get along with.” Cori always found it amusing how much she had grown to love holo-novels. When people first learned about her backstory, it pretty much sounded like a holonovel, and that was just them knowing the surface details. And certainly as a girl who had grown up on a farm and was used to being outside a great deal, the idea of spending her free hours inside a holosuite had never appealed to her. But she had changed greatly since those days and now the holodeck was a safe space- as much as one could exist for her and still have her presence be recognized.

“Anyway, I should probably let you get on with things. A pleasure to meet you Doctor Harrison,” Cori said, offering her hand to him.

He took her hand with a warm smile, once again marveling at the depth of detail. Naturally, it was a relatively room temperature hand, as all holograms tended to be, but the individual pores on her hand stood out, something he’d never experienced in even the most expensive holosuites. “Believe me, Lieutenant, the pleasure is all my uncles” he said with a laugh “I have sincere hope that we will run into each other frequently. Please, I’d be honored if you’d call me Nate”

She beamed. It had been awhile since she had had such a simple and pleasant introduction with, well, anyone. “Well, Nate, I’m Corinne, but people call me Cori. I’m not picky.” While friends tended to use the shortened name, it had never been a universal thing.

“I also go by SARAH, but that’s only when I’m acting for the ship. You’ll know the difference, trust me,” she said, before turning and heading through Sickbay to take her leave.
