On the bridge of the Saracen, Ensign Barr sat at communications lazily listening to the space channels, catching up on Fleet gossip. Being in Spacedock there wasn’t much for him to do on the night watch. If he had been day shift things would have been busier with him fielding calls and requests between Control and the various departments on ship but the refit was almost completed now and it was much quieter.

Suddenly his panel chimed with an incoming call and he almost fell out of his chair he sat up so quickly, eyes blinking as he stared at his board. Starfleet Command? Oh, wow! Did that mean they had orders already?? He was so excited he almost stabbed the button to answer when he saw the call was keyed to the Captain himself.

“Oh dear! Oh my!” The young Ensign said excitedly as he keyed the comms,=^=Bridge to Captain Knight! We have a call from Command coming in for your eyes only, sir!=^= His voice was breathless with excitement though he tried his best to temper it. =^=Where shall I send it, sir?=^=

Dante opened his eyes sleepily at the call and looked beside him, Natasha lay curled up asleep, soft and comfortable after their vacation to Erewhon. At his feet, Bruce raised his long lizard head and watched him with his unblinking yellow eyes, his tongue darting out and signaling his displeasure at being woken so early. “Alright,” Dante whispered to the monitor lizard, “I’ll take it out there, happy?” In response Bruce simply flicked his tongue again, and watched Dante silently leave the bedroom while he slipped on a shirt with a large Wildcats logo on the front.

=^= Send it to my Quarters, Ensign. =^= Dante replied, then reached out and turned on the console at his end, waiting for the message as the screen came to life.
