As she moved on to the next finger, Boja paused long enough for her dark eyes to gaze deeply at him before she resumed the regeneration. “Health professionals were integral in my childhood. It’s a long story, but the short version is that I was an orphan with almost no memories who was mute and roaming about a colony when they found me. I was a full telepath, which is unusual before puberty, and later I manifested other abilities. I owe them my life and my sanity. Without them, I would never have become a functioning member of society. This has been my way of giving back and I not only m good at it, but I also really like it, even if some days can be incredibly difficult and frustrating.”

Flynn shifted in where he was sitting, careful not to move the arm of the hand that Boja was repairing. He hadn’t expected such a personal response from the CMO. He listened intently as she talked, commiting it to memory, especially about her telepathy. He tried to quench the anxiety that hit him at the mention of her telepathy skills. He hated the thought that someone could read his thoughts and feelings. Rather than focus on it Flynn latched onto the passing comment she’d made about manifesting other abilites, and he remembered the tricorder. “Your special ability doesn’t have anything to do with floating tricoders does it?” he asked, quirking an eyebrow.

Boja smirked. “It does. And while it’s fun to surprise people with, such little uses actually have a purpose in helping me control it. Because people don’t realize just how much control it takes. It’s a product of discipline as well as awareness of what’s going on with me and what I need,” she commented as she finished the last finger and set down the osetogenerator.

For kicks she reached out slightly, and drew the dermal regenerator into her hand, so he could see more clearly that her TK was used intentionally. “Just going to heal the surrounding tissues and we’ll be done this.”
