Lt. Foster made his way from the Bridge to the transporter room and alerted the quartermaster regarding their equipment needs while enroute. Given the armory’s proximity to the transporter room, the supplies were already laid out by the time Nick entered the room.

“I’ll stick with the type 2 and tricorder, though I’m sure everyone else may prefer to carry a type 1,” The Security Chief said as he holstered the phaser and tricorder. “Chief, once everyone arrives, give us the rundown on where we’ll be beaming in”, He said to the Transporter Chief, hoping to avoid any surprises on the ground.

Sheleah entered the transporter room a few seconds after Foster. She glanced around, then glanced at the armaments.

“I think I’ll take a type 1, a tricorder, and my own personal buddy.”

Sheleah then revealed a long slender blade, a stiletto most would call it.

“Well, I guess we’ll call on you if our power cells die out,” The Security Chief laughed when he spotted the stiletto. “We still have a few stragglers, but it shouldn’t be more than a few minutes,” Nick said to both the Counselor and Transporter Chief.

Sheleah smiled and put the thing away. The COS had never lived with her father, or her mother for that matter.

“Oh haha. I picked up a phaser too don’t worry chief. Consider it a good luck charm with a kick. I promised my daddy what can I say?”

Ally walked in and watched the exchange between Foster and Sheleah. Strolling up to them she let out a laugh. “I prefer a hypo to a phaser. It drops someone just as fast but without the mess.” Unlike other doctors, Ally had zero issues with weapons. Some Doctors got on a high horse and refused to use them. Ally’s father and older brother were both civilian cops. Enough weapons were lying around to supply a small army between those two. She had also spent her fair share of time on weapon ranges to feel comfortable with them. If everyone was packing there might not be a reason for her to carry. “Unless you think I should,” she glanced at the COS.

“I mean, if you think you could shoot someone with a hypo spray from 50 meters away, be my guest,” Nicholas laughed, handing the doctor a phaser. He wasn’t about to let anyone go down defenseless and was unsure of the doctor knocking everyone out with whatever concoction she loaded into the hypospray.

Flynn, who had slipped in earlier un noticed and had already kitted himself out with a similar set to the Chief, grinned when he saw Ally enter. Somehow he could easily believe she would be just as lethal with a hypo as he was with a phaser, or his own natural guns.

“Are we waiting on anyone else?” Nick asked, looking around at the other three officers.

Ally reached out to take the phase from Foster. “So where is the safety on this thing,” she asked looking up at Foster innocently.

In a split second between her question and Foster replying, Ally brought up her other hand and pressed a hypo to Foster’s wrist. It was empty but the pssstshhh sound and pressure on his skin was undeniable. Winking at Foster she let out a laugh. “I am five foot four. I have to deal with people a foot or more taller than me and twice my weight. I just want you to know you don’t have to worry about me,” Ally stuffed the phaser into the holster on her leg, “whether or not I have a weapon.” The hypo had no medicine in it so it was just a sound and not actually a medicine being administered.

Try as he might Flynn couldn’t quite keep his face straight, the edges of his mouth twitching as the doctor proved her creative defensive side. At least she’ll be good in a close rage fight he thought to himself, and wondered how good she’d be at ducking given she couldn’t exactly use a hypo in long distance. He hoped she just as much talent in ducking.

“My dad and my brother are cops. I can’t take out the eye of a gnat at 1000 feet like you guys but I can hit the broad side of a barn and,” her voice went up as if she were excited about something, “I am not going to freak out the second the fighting starts.”

“Bravo.” Sheleah commented quietly. She felt no need to add to the conversation. Hopefully, there would be no need for anybody to employ their skills. She did feel safer though.

“Remind me never to mess with you,” Fraiser grinned at Ally, “I’m not sure I ever want to get on your bad side.”

Then returning to the COS’s question he said in a more serious tone, “I believe this is us sir,”
