Tobias nodded in acknowledgment of the order. “Understood, Captain,” he replied, his tone serious and focused. With a swift turn, he headed to his station, fingers tapping rapidly on the console to initiate the necessary commands. “Initiating probe preparation sequence,” he announced, his voice projecting with authority amidst the bustling activity on the bridge. As he worked, Tobias relayed the instructions to the probe storage section, ensuring that the lower deck crew received the orders promptly and efficiently. It was crucial to expedite the process, given the urgency of the situation at hand.

“Probe launched successfully,” Charles announced shortly after. From his console he attempted to get a clear lock on the incoming signal from the probe and filter out any excess noise. Any useful data he directed to show up at both engineering and Tobias’ science station.

“Gentlemen, I’m assuming you’ll keep me appraised of any further developments? I’ll be in my ready room, reaching out to . . . .friends to see if I can get anymore information about our mystery ship. Cmdr. Balfor, you have the conn.”

The CO rose from his seat to exit the bridge. He stopped at the doors to the ready room and asked, “What’s our ETA?”

Meanwhile, in Main Engineering, Harri Sato was reading through the diagnostic reports that had come in over the last mission before she heard the hum of the warp core change tempo. A glance at the ship status board in her office confirm her initial thoughts; they had entered warp on a new heading. She pressed a few buttons on the console on her desk; apparently they were headed toward an anomaly that had been detected a few minutes earlier. A quick look at the distance and speed, she figured that they would be there in just under 12 hours.

She quickly checked another status board, which indicated there was no ongoing maintenance on the warp assembly or any peripheral systems, so the Saracen could easily press on a bit quicker.

=^= Engineeering to Bridge, I can give you Warp 9 if you want to get there before shift change. =^= she suggested. At that speed, they would get there in approximately 3 hours.
