Jhalae was struggling to understand how everything worked. It had never been her intention to become a department head and have the responsibility of supervising officers. She had hoped for a more carefree and unburdened tour of duty aboard the Saracen. As she sat at the Chief Engineer’s desk, now her own at least for the time being, she glanced at the PaDD in front of her. She noticed that there was a new Ensign on board named Charles-Louis, whom she needed to check in with. Taking a deep breath, she inhaled through her nostrils and exhaled slowly through her mouth, whispering to herself, “Okay.” Gathering her composure, she activated her comm badge and initiated a call to Charles-Louis, saying, =^=Ynuchausti to Louis.
