Siarram headed down the halls of the Saracen, determined to get his onboarding checklist done and over with. Then he could get to work. He liked that, work. There was a certain type of peace working with machinery. They always made sense, had to work a certain way. Raised aboard a cargo vessel, Siarram had always found that peace sitting by himself with a gadget of some kind.He stepped into Sickbay without hesitation and sat in the waiting area patiently. From first looks, he would look Andorian: the blue skin tone, silver hair, antennae. All classic Andorian traits. But when one looked closer it was obvious that isn’t all there is: his pointed ears, the glossiness to his silver hair, his facial structure atypical for an Andorian. Even that blue skin tone was a bit off for an Andorian, almost pale in a way. And still strange from a medical standpoint, his lungs larger than that of an Andorian, his heart placed below the right lung, with additional cartilage on that side to protect it. There were other differences inside him, marking him as obviously not fully Andorian.
He glanced around Sickbay, watching the crew both patient and doctor. Some of the patients he could tell were complaining, about whatever minor concern ailed them, about the wait time, or whatever happened to be bothering them. Some sat quietly, only answering the questions asked of them, only providing relevant information. Others still had friendly chats with whatever medical staff was helping them.
Siarram was used to the way medical practitioners looked at him. Like a marvel, or a science project. Something to be studied and figured out. Awe and disbelief, almost. It didn’t bother him, really. He understood he was a tad… unique. In all his travels, both on cargo vessels and in Starfleet, he had yet to meet anyone like himself.

A young dark haired nurse approached him. “Hello Lt. You’re here for your physical. Come with me. I’m Nurse Claire. Welcome to the Saracen.” Claire was always up to date on the new crew coming on board. It made sure they didn’t get over looked in the shuffle. She led him over to a biobed and turned the scanners on, “Have a seat. I’ll get Dr. Asimina for you.”
Nurse Claire
Siarram followed the nurse back and took a seat on the biobed. The biobed was, of course, having a small fit. His heart rate high for an Andorian, low for a Vulcan, but regular for him. His blood pressure within normal Vulcan range. And like his heart rate, his respirations found some middle ground between Vulcans and Andorians and remained normal there. “Do take your time,” he said to the nurse.

Claire gave him a reassuring smile and walked around the corner. “Dr. Asimina you have a patient.” Hannah stood up from the desk where she’d been reading up on the latest engineering designs for prosthetics and dropped her tricorder into her pocket. “Who is it Claire?”
“Well....I forgot to ask, but based on the new transfer files, I would say it’s the new Chief Engineer.” Hannah nodded and made her way into the main room. Claire never forgot a face, rank, position, favorite food, or medical history. Ask her to remember a name and you were out of luck. The blonde haired, blue eyed doctor had an easy welcoming smile, and two external audio implants behind each ear. “Hello, Lt. I’m Dr. Asimina. Welcome to the Saracen.” Her voice carried a strange accent, almost like she has marbles in her mouth, but not quite. Her hands moved a long with her words before extending one to shake hands.

Siarram smiled politely back and extended one of his own hands. “Siarram Ch’thaanaq, engineer.” He said. He mistakenly assumed her accent was an Earthen dialect, like British English versus American English or something, but either way he said nothing of it. He also noticed the devices behind her ears, and correctly recognized them as hearing implants. “I’m just trying to get the inane onboarding tasks out of my way. Chose to start with medical. Engineers, after all, tend to make frequent visits to medical,” he commented and lifted his hand to show a faint burn mark on the right palm near the thumb, probably a few weeks old but not yet fully faded away.

Oh dear, Hannah was going to have trouble with that name. Her implants allowed her to hear the inflections and nuances but she still has trouble speaking some of them. She really hoped she didn’t offend the man. “Well we appreciate you getting it out of the way.” Hannah eyed the burn, “We can get that healed up with a short session with the dermal regenerator.” She pulled out her tricorder pulling the hand held scanner from it as she flipped it open. “May I?” Permission was always important to Hannah.
“Anything I should know about your health?”
Asimina, med
If she told him her trouble, he’d gladly give her something easier to call him. Siarram wasn’t very picky with how people referred to him. The burn was old, and he was indifferent to whether it was healed with the regenerator or not, so he nodded. Then he nodded again to give permission for the tricorder. Finally, she asked a question, and Siarram couldn’t help but grin. “Have you read my file?” He asked, wondering how much he’d need to explain.

Hannah began the scan, the readings causing her brow to quit k upwards. “Not yet. Claire,” she called to the nurse, “have you loaded the Lt’s file into the computer yet?”
Claire looked up from the station she was working at, “Just arrived with the rest. For once command is actually on time with these things.” She picked up a PaDD and set it on the biobed.
Hannah finished the scan and then picked up the PaDD scanning it quickly. Then comparing his norms with the current readings. (OOC: what are the results?)
His results read normal for what the file said his baselines were. His heart rate maybe a tad quick, but that could be attributed to the typical stresses of a new assignment. Signs of a slight lack of sleep were present, if only because Siarram grew too attached to his projects every once in a while.
“Well I can say Lt you are quite unique. You seem to have inherited the best of both your heritages. Is there anything you want to discuss?” While she asked, Hannah grabbed the dermal regenerator and placed it over the burn on his arm.

Siarram gave a half-smile, shaking his head. “The best, perhaps, but the difficulties of each as well. No, I think I know well enough how it is my own body works.” If ever anything went seriously wrong, then he’d have questions, questions he wasn’t sure a lot of doctors could answer, but that was no concern of his now. He let her place the regenerator and waited patiently for it to do its job. It wouldn’t take long to heal to the small burn, and he was sure he’d have one similar to it in two, maybe three, days, tops. He wasn’t the most… careful engineer who ever lived.
