USS Saracen

New Day New Mission

Wrapping up the paperwork on the Constellation had been time consuming and a paperwork nightmare. There had been a core of good officer on board, but the ship had been ripe with corruption, left over from the captain imposter Xitt Onnyubum. Cpt Zarcal and then Ch’otok had been sent to try and help her ferret it out and finally they had. Not before Cassandra almost lost her mind totally and blew up the ship too. But the corruption ran so deep that in the end the Constellation had been decommissioned and the crew sent in their separate directions. Brenna locked the lid of the last trunk of her things. Ch’otok was taking Cassandra to settle on Oed V. She hoped it worked out for them. Their sudden marriage was a twist Brenna nor the rest of their group ever expected, but it made so much sense. She hoped Cassandra healed. If anyone could handle her and bring her back to herself though, it would be Ch’otok. She’d seen them both off to Ch’otok’s warbird, The Opaka that morning. Lt Cmdr Marsh, the XO, had left weeks before for his next assignment.

It had taken Brenna two months, after the arrests, to go through the ship and find everything that had been stolen, copied, stashed away. Then there was the endless communiques. She wished Bethany had been there. She was a master of making computers talk and give up their secrets, but she was gone on her own new assignment. She lifted the last trunk onto the anti-grav sled and looked at the three huskies lounging about the room. “Alright boys, time to go.” She grinned at their enthusiasm. Simple and honest, they were going somewhere. They followed her out and down the corridor toward the shuttle bay. She’d handed over command and control of the ship to the skeleton crew assigned to take Constellation to the grave yard. Entering the shuttle bay she walked over and pressed her palm to the biometric control pad and the hatch hissed open.

Brenna, Geri, Freki, and Fenris spent two weeks on Norda III. It was good to reconnect, be with family. But when they got the news that Bethany had been listed as a traitor and had mutinied on her ship, Brenna wouldn’t believe it. There was no way, but there was no way to find out more. Bethany, Cassandra, Casela…she shook her head, something was going on, and being lazy on Norda wasn’t going to find answers. So Brenna took her next assignment. This time she was going to be a chief of security. The similarity to Bethany’s assignment didn’t go unnoticed. With a shrug, Bethany loaded up the shuttle, herded her pack inside and headed for the Saracen.

Fenris wandered over and whined nudging her hand. She scratched the dog’s ears. Fenris liked to be in the middle of everything. Freki was the calmer of the three huskies, he was stretched out in the back taking up most of the floor space. Geri was the silently anxious one of the group. He was curled up in the co-pilot’s chair so he would be right where she was.

Lt Cmdr Atoded, CoS
