He wasn’t ashamed and he didn’t want her to feel bad for anything. He turned around helping her from the much as he grabbed a nearby towel for her to clean off with as he did the same. She wasn’t wrong, mud and sand could be everywhere. One might call it a beach in most parts of the world, with the fine sand covering the shore of the beach perfectly as small waves crashed onto it.
Kalani tired to act naturally as she took the towel and removed the wet shirt clinging to her body. She had no reservations about the what she was about to do but she still wasn’t comfortable enough to forget the large phaser burn covering the lower part of her stomach. Wrapping the towel around her she rid herself of the sandy attire and finger combed her hair out some. A smile spread across her face as she thought about all the cheesy romance movies where two young lovers had passionate embraces under waterfalls or even underwater yet their hair still flowed perfectly and their make up never ran. At least here since there was no mirror, Kalani would imagine everything perfect like the movies and not how reality was probably presenting it. While she was fully committed to the course of action she set forward the confidence boost of the images Hollywood presented did help increase her confidence and ease her nervous jitters a bit. It was her decision and she was not utterly naive but her mind did race with the technical aspects of what she was about to do.
As they finished cleaning he took her to their tent by her hand, the floor was padded and soft as he turned on the heating unit. The air was cooling and he knew she would shiver as the night breeze touched her skin.
Kalani tried not to tremble when her hand entered his. As she entered the tent a shiver ran up and down her spine so hard it rippled through her body. Whether it was apprehension or excitement, Kalani was too nervous to tell. “Chilly,” she said just to fill the silence between them. Kalani rubbed her arms as if to emphasize the point. “I didn’t think the temperature would drop this low,” she began to nervously prattle on. “The tilt of the planet should keep us at a steady seventy-five to seventy-seven degrees so I am kinda shocked you need that heater,” she began to delve into scientist instead of future girlfriend as she stood and watched Jarred move about the tent.
He lead her gently to the bed before he lay next to her, eager yet reserved as he let himself gaze into her eyes.
“Oh..okay we are turning in for the night,” she nodded as she took his hand and sat down among the spread out sleeping bags. her heart raced and her mouth was going dry. She thought about asking for a cup of water but that seemed too infantile. The minimal conversation was making her more nervous than anything else. She and Jarred always bantered back and forth. This quiet moment was as new as what she was about to do. Kalani opened her mouth to speak but Jarred beat her to it.
“I love you… I… I love saying that.” he said softly as he leaned in to kiss her, his hand draping around her back as he caressed her gently.

His words froze her stiff. There is was. I love you. He said it again without a hint of reservation or anxiety. Jarred had used the word several times now and each time it was more casual more relaxed as if he had said it three thousand times to her instead of three. Kalani had only one response. Wrapping her arms around his neck she kissed him passionately feeling her engine go from zero to sixty in three point five seconds. “God I love hearing you say that,” she barely could get the words out between Jarred kissing her and she kissing him. Her mind was as much a blur as actions occurring between them. The only thing she did know was that this was exactly where she wanted to be and who she had waited to be with.

Kalani could easily relax with just kissing. It was the exploring part. Jarred might have said it didn’t matter to him but Kalani wasn’t sure. He had gotten a glimpse of it when they crawled into bed however if events progressed as they were likely to, Jarred would get a far closer look. As his kisses trailed down her neck to below her collarbone, Kalani let her mind take over from instinct. “Hey just kiss me okay,” she said putting her hands on either side of his head and directing his gaze back to her face.
Jarred knew she was feeling timid and he knew he had to get her in a place of comfort as he stopped kissing her just enough to move his kisses down her neck as pressed himself up against, moving her arms apart he wanted her to just focus on the sensation running through her. Pausing he looked deep in her brown eyes as he leaned in kissed her briefly once more on her lips. “You are my sole focus, and I will do everything to make this perfect love.” he said, running his hand down her thigh softly. He needed her to feel loved, it was a strange feeling but knowing he was her first he couldn’t help but want to help guide her and love her slowly and tenderly as the night went on.

“Okay,” Kalani nodded and lifted her head kissing him softly on the lips. Then she laid her head back taking a deep breath following Jarred’s instructions. She did not move letting Jarred get her back to feeling warm, safe, loved, and secrure.
None of this actually made sense to her. She should not have this must blind trust in Alindor. Kalani had only known Jarred a short time yet something inside her had connected with him. Even if nothing came of tonight. Even if things cooled after this weekend which was entirely possible, Kalani wanted this moment with him. On the surface, Jarred Alindor was basically just a nice guy like every other guy she had met in her life. Under the surface was a man that thrilled, excited, and intrigued her. There was so much more to Jarred than most people saw and Kalani wanted to be the one to discover the real him.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Jarred wanted Kalani to relax. That might be easier said than done. Kalani body tensed, shifted and arched all in response to the ways his fingers moved over her skin. Over the next hour or maybe longer, Kalani had lost all sense of time, she went from ticklish giggles to soft moans. Her responses at times contained words and other times was unintelligible murmurs. Only once did she tense and hold him tight to her body as she lost her breath as Jarred turned his sole attention to her as he promised. Their voices seemed to echo in the still of the night until they were finally replaced with the sounds of crickets and other nocturnal animals.
Sometime later......
Kalani curled up on Jarred’s chest sighing deeply. A smile curled on her lips and she let out a half breathy huff type laugh as his words echoed in her head. Under this waterfall, it is going to be sore, achy and just a hard time. Jarred could not have been more right. The more she thought about her begging him to keep swimming and Jarred looking at her like she had a screw loose caused the lazy smile to break out into a huge grin.
“I was just thinking about what you said before,” Kalani rolled and adjusted so that she was no longer lying in the crook of his arm but half on his chest so she could look into his eyes. “I think we might have needed scuba gear to do that thing in the water where,” she twisted her body slightly, “where you were like this,” she did a hand gesture, “and I was…like this,” she changed her hand gesture to indicate another posture but wore an expression of someone seriously intent about creating an exact image of a shadow puppet on the wall. “Jarred, love, I gotta ask…where did you even learn that,” she stared at him bewildered for a moment before breaking out in a laugh and putting her face down on his chest. “God I sounded stupid right there didn’t I,” she mumbled into his chest. For the first time, since she arrived, Kalani felt so embarrassed.

“You are fine love, it just takes time and experience. I want to show you more… and we have plenty of time. Just the start for us.” he said as he held her close and kissed her forehead. “So, was it worth the wait?”
Alindor, CE
“Since I have nothing to compare it to I will just have to make this baseline date. That could have been a fluke,” Kalani teased flopping onto her back and adjusting the sleeping bag around her upper half. “I mean we are both scientists Jarred. One plot point does not make a Eureka moment. I think further tests might need to be required. Any idea where I can find a volunteer,” she turned her head to the side to look at him.
