Royal was concerned about this review. He knew the XO had been through some events recently, and the Captain had said to ensure she was up to the task. Taking a deep breath, he tapped his commbadge. =/\= Counselor to Commander Aullar. Please come by my office when you can. Thank you. =/\= and he began reviewing her record in earnest.

So the Saracen had acquired itself a CNS. It was certainly better than the prospect of a full recall. Her sister had her nails in that particular signature absence, no doubt. Vienne snorted in dry amusement, startling a nearby 257 dock worker. She didn’t stay to watch the last of the previous XO’s belongings shipped off to… wherever those things go. She turned around, headed right back for the ship.

Now would suffice.

Vienne pressed the door chime as the computer’s guiding light dimmed off.

Aullar, XO

“Come in.” came a voice with a thick Scottish accent from behind the door and it slid open, revealing the Counselor’s office. It was a bit bare, denoting the new tenure of it’s occupant, but a few items had found their way onto shelves and walls.

The man seated behind the desk didn’t look like a Counselor, in any form or fashion, save for the blue uniform of the Science and Medical Section he wore. He was a large human man; and as he stood up when the doors parted he was pushing seven feet in height. His massive shoulders and well-muscled frame seemed more appropriate for a Star Fleet Marine or Security officer than the ship’s Counselor; even down to the high and tight haircut his blonde hair was shaped into. What wasn’t similar to the rest of his appearance was the look of genuine friendliness and the sincere smile that crossed his features as the XO came into the room. The Lieutenant Commander pips on his collar seemed odd given the youthful appearance of the man’s features… he couldn’t have been more than thirty.

The big man stood up and said “Hello, Commander. A pleasure. Thank you for coming so quickly.” and he extended a large hand in greeting.

The office was much like Vi’s own in the current ship limbo, though she had nothing to replace its standard issues. She hardly gave the room a cursory glance before her sharp gaze settled up and onto Sinclair. Two long, fluid steps brought her in range to meet his hand. “Lieutenant Commander,” Vi returned. Her own voice was accented, preference more than ability. “You are the more likely of us both to have a wait. I am not so in demand as of yet.”

Freckles dusted Vi’s face seemingly in contrast to the scar that split her lower lip. By Orion standards, she was modestly built, athletic, and substantially less gregarious. She knew a thing or two about not matching expectation herself.

“Please, be seated. Would you care for something to drink? I was just about to get a cup of tea for myself.” he asked as he moved to the replicator. “Sorry for the barren nature of the office. Still in the process of moving in.” he said with a chuckle. “At least they didn’t lose my luggage.”

Sinclair, CNS

“Unless you have a bar,” Vi crooked a single eyebrow upwards momentarily, waving away the offer with a smooth flick of her fingers. She sat with effortless control, as if the ship’s gravity didn’t exist, and set both elbows on either armrest. “Have persons taken offense,” she asked, “to a lack of personal effects?”
