They had a new counsellor, but her previous comment to Royal about not wanting to share the whole entire thing with yet another person who had no stake in her life was still very much true. But hours after leaving engineering and her conversation with Jarred, her head was still spinning.

Could it work? Would it be a better option than what she currently had? She didn’t know.

=/\=Dalton to Sinclair. Royal… you free?=/\= Cori said, her voice full of conflict but more thoughtful than anything.

~Corinne Dalton

=/\= Aye, lass. I am. What can I do for you, Cori?=/\= came the warm reply of the big Scot.

Sinclair, CoS

She couldn’t help but grin at the sound of his voice. =/\=My hospitality skills might be lacking, but I’ve a replicator here in my quarters. I could use a sounding board.=/\=

=/\= I live to serve. I’ll meet you at your quarters in ten. =/\= he replied warmly.

Surveying the quarters, she frowned yet again. Her chosen decor still bothered her and she wasn’t sure exactly what it was. Maybe the whole thing about clothing and food and showering lent a lived in feeling that she couldn’t mimic? Hmmm. Another thing to ask him perhaps.

Ten minutes on the nose, the chime rang.

=/\=Door’s open. Try to not judge the decor too harshly,=/\= she added with a smirk.

Sinclair walked through the door, filling it with his bulk. Stepping inside, he held up a bottle and said “I didn’t know if that was this kind of discussion or not, but better safe than sorry, right?” and he laughed.

When he arrived he’d find her quarters in a basic but not unpleasant state. When you didn’t need to sleep, eat, dress or shower, your living space became something else altogether. There were empty book shelves on one wall and plants everywhere. A desk with a chair. Images of star clusters and nebulae adorned the walls and the basic utility carpet had colourful handmade looking rugs in kay places. A soft knit blanket was draped over the couch and a dark blue one over an adjacent arm chair. Between the seating was a wood coffee table, but there was no dining table or chairs. For all the decorating it was quite possible that it looked generic, or staged.

Sitting at the desk, Cori was wearing her mobile emitter on her arm as per usual with a long navy blue skirt that skimmed her toes and a sleeveless tank in blank. But she was turned in her chair, facing the door gazing skeptically at her surroundings.

He looked around and said “I, uh… like what you’ve done with the place?” he asked with an obvious quizzical expression as he took a seat near the desk.
