Once they were alone, so to speak, Dante turned back to them and moved back to his chair. He didn’t sit, instead he stood behind it with his hands resting on the backrest. “Are you ready for this?” he asked his CMO, she had a moment of tension earlier and considering the circumstances, he couldn’t blame her. “Teller has the location of the signal, and I have the ship ready to go see who or what is out there. Good work on the countermeasure” he told them, “We are not going to use it unless we are forced to and if we don’t need it, I want it destroyed. Understood?”

“You don’t have to tell me twice sir, I’ve never been a big fan of biological or chemical weapons sir.”

Satreya nodded, but there was a small look of relief that crossed her face. Though it had been implied here and here, she only realized just now how much she needed to hear him saw that it was not a first measure. “I’m as ready as I can be. I honestly don’t think a person could be under this circumstances. But I’ll manage.” She’d managed a lot more before.

He looked to the CIO and handed him a PaDD with the location of the signal they were going to investigate. “I have no reports of anything out of the ordinary on regular channels I have access to” he told them, “I want you to check this out with your sources Mr Colter” he said to DaVinci, “and see if there is anything we can find out before we get there.” Then he looked back to the group, “we are all on the same side here, we are a family of sorts. We need to show that when we meet these people, so if there are any issues between us, I want it gone.”

Captain Knight, CO

“I’ll get right on it, sir, DaVinci replied. After Dante’s finishing comment, he turned to look at Satreya.

Oh, that one was particularly for her and Colter. Well, for her about Colter. The problem was that it wasn’t that simple. The CIO’s nature was to to dig and she had dropped enough bombs in that meeting to spark his interest. If he wasn’t remotely interested in her background and where she had figured out her quantum signature (she had been hopefully vague enough about that all), he couldn’t possibly be good at his job and that she didn’t believe for a second.

“I apologize for being defensive about any of this,” Satreya said. “But you have to understand that this isn’t just some mystery about my past. I’ve been told a numerous occasions that I should just let it go and live my life. And they aren’t wrong, per say, but they also aren’t unusually telepathic and telekinetic when typical genetics showings between my two ancestries don’t ever amount to what I am. And none of it accounted for this block in my mind I couldn’t get through. I knew attempted to get past it would be dangerous, but I certainly didn’t think I’d draw my ship and crew into the depths with me. And for that naiveté Captain, I really am sorry,” she said sincerely.

Lt. Boja, CMO

Dr. Boja, in my time, in military and police organizations, there was a department referred to as IA, Internal Affairs. No one ever wanted to get a visit from IA. It usually meant that you or someone close to you was under investigation for doing something wrong or something illegal. I’m afraid intelligence operatives get the same rap. People seem to think our job is find corruption in a chain of command and put the kibosh on it, so to speak.”

His gaze shifted to graham, Knight, and then back to Satreya. “Yes, I have investigated every person in a command position on this ship except for the recent additions, Cmdr. Aullar and Lt. Cmdr. Sinclair, only because I haven’t had time to do yet. This includes you, as well, Dr. Boja. And yes, you are a mystery. But rest assured, I have no intention or no reason to take anybody on this ship down. You have proven yourself to be time and again, a loyal Starfleet officer and valuable member of this crew. Trust me, I’m here to provide intel to this crew. The only people I want to take down are the enemies of the Federation. That goes for providing Intel to you, regarding anything I may find about your background. I would like to help you find some answers of your own.”

He stood up and moved a few steps closer to her, extending his open right hand as he did so. “I Don’t have a reason not to trust you, doctor, and I hope with everything that I’ve just said, you can trust me. And, all of us together, can figure out if these people looking for you are a threat to you, this ship, or the Federation. And, if we can get some answers for you in the process, that’s even better.”

Colter (CIO)

“Yes we can and that is why I am here,” Kavia said as if she were part of the conversation between Boja and Colter the entire time. The trip between the universes was something no one could explain. It was just something she had to experience.

Dante looked up suddenly at the unexpected voice to see a just as unexpected woman standing where, seconds ago, nobody had been.

Kavia took in the two men in the room that seemed to have the most presence. One would have to be the commanding officer and the other the second in command. She would take a guess and then egos would tell her if she was right or wrong.

“And who exactly are you?” Dante asked, but noted that she was most certainly not taking any notice of him.

“Kavia,” the woman said extending her hand to Colter looking at him with a cheeky smile. “My name is Kavia and I am an official agent of the Mykoli’Tanna Judiciary System. Please to meet you,” she said letting her eyes take in the large male in front of her. My my you do grow them big and bold in this universe, Kavia thought looking at the man. Kavia, at 100 years old was in the early prime of her life. She was fit, confident, and dedicated to her task which was to bring justice to her world.

“Boja,” Kavia nodded at her fellow being. “I see you have fared well here in your time with the being of this universe.”

Kavia

Dante’s eyes moved to Teller, whom had the device they had been working on beside him and was closer than Boja and Kavia than he. If needed it would hopefully prove effective and while it appeared that for now the situation wasn’t threatening, they had no idea about the culture they faced.

Her mouth dropped open and in that moment there was a serious risk of Satreya needing to be scrapped off the floor! She easily caught the lascivious thought and it took her a few beats more to fully digest that the woman (?) before her had just zapped into being before their very eyes. “Uhh, what? Have we met before? Who did you say you were?” she asked, trying to not overreact, despite the fact that every sense in her body was screaming at her. She reached a hand under the table to brush Teller’s seeking a moment of comfort and reassurance. After all, if Kavia wanted to harm them, she was certain she could have already. No, this was an entirely different situation and not one they had quite prepared for.

Lt. Boja, CMO

Teller stood up suddenly, he was able to figure out much with the words that she used, and unlike Satreya who was hoping for the best, Teller was unwilling to take that chance. He would place himself in the line between Boja and Kavia… In fact he maneuvered such as he was in the line between Boja and everyone.

Graham

Satreya reached out a placed a hand on Teller’s arm, flattered that he’d put himself in harm’s way but somehow instinctively knowing it wasn’t necessary. If asked she had no good reason, but she just seemed to know that this Kavia meant her, and them, no harm. “It’s okay,” she whispered.

((OOC… any chance the ‘arrival’ of an anomaly (Kavia) in the room would set off some kind of security alarm or “intruder alert”? Sha is still ‘just’ outside the room is why I ask. If there is any warning, alarm, etc… she’s coming in… lol… Meli))

OOC: I would think so, but I’ll let the GM answer that as she may have some tech to override the alarms. . .

IC: DaVinci stood as well, and moved closer to Satreya. “Mykoli’Tanna Judiciary System,” he inquired? With his voice barely above a whisper, he continued. “I’m afraid we’re at a loss. Is that supposed to mean something to us?”

Colter (CIO)

OOC: I would say that Kavia would have triggered an alarm passing through the shields (and yes, she can).
IC:
Boja shook her head. It certainly meant nothing to her.

Lt. Boja, CMO

“No not to you but it does or will to her,” Kavia said nodding at Boja. “Boja and I are Mykoli’Tanna from the planet of Suu’sianna Prime. On our homeworld, Satreya witnessed someone by the name of Jeynov order an attack on another faction in our government during a ceasefire. Several people died and while I am not privy to exactly why this next part occurred I can tell you that a scientist by the name of Mylinn developed experimental transportation technology which sent Satreya into your Universe and blocked her memory of the event. Don’t ask why they blocked the event and sent her halfway across the universe. I think they should have just asked her about the events and have her record the information for posterity. Personally, I think that would have been far less complicated but I just work here. Anyway, I have been sent as a courier to pass on the message to Satreya that she is literally a key to unlocking the truth about that day the cease-fire was broken. Jeynov has become increasingly popular with the people of Suu’sianna Prime. The Mykoli’Tanna government is worried that word of his betrayal would cause a major crisis for the Mykoli’Tanna people and possibly lead to a civil war. They sent me to contact her and bring her home,” Kavia summed up the information she knew. By the way, the people of the ship closed ranked around Boja the minute Kavia appeared made her add one more point to the story.

“However I do want to add that all of this is Satreya choice. I am not going to just snap my fingers and poof,” Kavia said with a flourish of her hands, “take her with me. Boja may have lived a long life here among you but before this life she was a consenting adult who agreed to all the I said happened. I have no proof. The only proof is locked away in her brain. I can help her release it but it is her choice. We will force her to do nothing she doesn’t want to.” Kavia’s gaze settled on Boja. She was not concerned about the beings from this world. She meant no harm to any of them.

“So until Boja here decides what she wants to do how about you and I get something to eat,” she said directing her gaze to colter. “I am starving.”

Kavia of Suu’sianna Prime

As Kavia had entered, the ‘intruder alert’ had gone off. As Sha was about to tap her badge to see where the intruder was, a chirp on her breast nearly made her jump. The voice was one of concern… and confusion.

=^= Ensign Rah, we are showing an intruder in the Briefing room… is everything all right?=^=

Without bothering to respond, Sha drew her phaser from her hip and stepped into the briefing room. She was smart enough to have it out and ready, but also not dumb enough to wave it as she walked in. “Captain!?” Her voice was both questioning and full of concern. No one appeared to be in duress which made the situation all the more curious. She glanced around and quickly focused on the ‘anomoly’ in the room. The visitor had somehow managed to beam in ‘thru’ the shields. Sha, while not about to blow the person away, certainly made it clear from the look on her face that it wasn’t an acceptable thing in her mind.

CoS

“Oh hello. I’m Kavia. I have come for Boja here. No need to be alarmed,” she waved a hand at the person entering the room.

Dante came around from behind his chair, and raised his hand slightly for Triton to stay her weapon. A few steps brought him up close to Kavia and he paused a moment with a raised eyebrow as he regarded her. “I am Captain Knight” he began, “Captain of this ship. While I can appreciate that you came here without intent to harm” he told her, “It is considered rather rude to simply appear in front of people without warning or contact first. Especially if your intent is as you say, to deliver her a message and help her with her memories. I would appreciate it if you could relay to, anybody else, that such an act is not acceptable if we wish to avoid any unpleasant incidents.”

“I will be sure to tell the folks back home but temporal transportation is not as easy as hopping a shuttle. Heck, we are lucky I am wearing clothes. The first attempt prevented anything non-organic to pass from point A to point B. You think you are a bit surprised now? Try being in that room when I popped in,” Kavia rolled her eyes clearly annoyed with that memory. “Any who…ship, comm systems, clothing,” she ticked off the list of Dante’s supposed requirements for first contact tapping her temple. “Eidetic memory so it will be passed on,” she assured him

“A Comm Signal would have been nice.” The sarcasm was clear to anyone who’s native tongue was Federation Standard a translation device would have a little more difficulty. As far as he was concerned if you could transport a person through space and time you could could make a telephone call.

He looked back to Boja for a moment, his eyes holding an obvious glint of suspicion at what Kavia had told them, then at Teller and Colter and back to Kavia. “Dr Boja is a member of my crew, and as such she does have responsibilities here to weigh.”

“And that is why it is up to her to either do the right thing or hang out here and,” Kavia stopped the end of her sentence short. Kavia was young and idealistic. Everyone told her so. Things were black and white to her but maybe that point of view was not something she should bring up at this time. “She is free to make her own decisions. I promise you that. I will go home either with her or without her but that will be her choice.”

“Mr Colter, why don’t you take our guest from Suu’sianna Prime to the lounge and show her the menu. It would me remiss of us to be a bad host.” The woman had seemed to take a liking to Colter, and if that gave Boja some breathing room, it could only be a good thing. Looking over at Triton, he motioned slightly for her to stand aside and wait a moment.

Captain Knight, CO

“Lead the way,” Kavia said smiling at the handsome man the captain designated as her escort.

Kavia of Suu’sianna Prime

Teller pursed his lips unhappily. It was too awkward and sudden for him. He smelled a trap. He waited for Kavia and Colton to leave. “It too convenient Sir and where is her tools, comm system, and weapon. At her alleged tech level she could pillage our systems and we wouldn’t even know.”
