A couple minutes later, she found the place he had suggested and saw him waiting there. “Captain,” she greeted. “I hope I’m not too late and you weren’t waiting very long. I swear every time we come into base it’s like Sickbay suddenly implodes and forgets how to function.”

Dante looked up at the sound of her voice, then stood politely to greet her. “Not at all, Doctor. Sometimes waiting for a while can be an intended outcome if you search for a bit of down time after hopping from place to place.” He smiled at her and then moved to her chair, and pulled it out for her as an invite to sit and join him. “My own career has been like that, bouncing from one location to the next as assignments and events unfolded. You learn to enjoy the moments you get to just sit and wait wait.”

“That I can understand and appreciate,” she replied as she took the proffered seat.

Looking over to the nearby waitress, he nodded and she smiled back as she moved to get her order PaDD and join them momentarily so he turned back to Boja. “How has sickbay been doing with the crew rotation and new staff? I do trust that your taking the time off that I assigned everyone, although I do see by the duty rosters you haven’t quite had that break yet.” His tone was only very slightly sounding displeased, but that was offset by the slight grin on his lips.

It had turned out that most of the DH’s had done the sneaky to continue their work on the ship and take little down time, even with the repairs and resupply being handled by most of the station. While outwardly that meant Dante had to grump or disapprove a little in the interests of needing his senior staff rested and fresh, and cleverly interpreting his suggestion for time off how they wished, inwardly, Dante was proud and knew exactly why they did what they did, because it was exactly what Dante did when given the same suggestion for leave, every time.

Boja snorted slightly. “Time off always seems to be one of those hypothetical things, but yes, I do intend to eventually. “People forget that while the base handles lots of stuff, our time here means crew transfers, and physicals have to be completed. Someone has to do that, and if I want my staff to get their own much needed rest, I have to cover things a bit, as well as make sure that we don’t leave base without whatever supplies we need restocking. I’d hate to be forty lightyears and realize we’re missing something we can’t replicate.” It was a practical matter as much as anything. “But, I do promise to take a break. But the strange part is that it might be actually at the tail end of our stopover or even just after we leave.” Also there was a good chance Teller would drag her away from Sickbay at least once- a thought which made her smirk slightly.

“You make sure you do take that break” Dante said, “we are going to be in dock for some time, so there isn’t any rush on those supplies, yet. Just make sure we have some of that pheromone suppressant in stock, we may have need of it now and then and I do believe our new Executive Officer, Commander Aullar, will be by to do her check in with you and see to that.”

The waitress arrived and handed them both menu’s. It was nothing heavy, the establishment being more in favor of light meals that got people in and out quickly. “Champagne” he ordered and then grinned at Boja as he looked back to the waitress, “You can leave the bottle. I expect that you can make use of this time to make any upgrades you want to our medical systems” he said as he looked back at the CMO, still grinning. “Whats your fancy?” his question skipped back to the menu suddenly, as he opened his own and glanced at it with curiosity, almost.
