So far this had been one of the busiest check-in days Kane had ever completed. Probably because time was of the essence. She needed to make sure her experiments survived the transition. If this had been ten years ago it would have been a sure thing. If it had been five years ago, she could have waited twenty-four hours. It was not, however, either of those things. Kane needed space and a large one just to set up never mind the construction time it would take to build what she had put to schematics. Teller’s reputation had been one of a fair superior that respected hard work and dedication to one’s job. Kalani lived for her job. Being a fellow scientist, she hoped he would see her passion and give her some leeway in following her scientific pursuit. Walking up to his door, Kane palmed the chime and waited for the customary enter or come that would invite her into his office.
