“Yes,” Dante sighed. “You are about to be assigned to be in charge of Movie Night to brush up on your tough guy lines,” Dante laughed. “You don’t recognise Dirty Harry? It’s a classic!”

Dirty Harry? He never heard about it, or perhaps it was his memory joking on himself “Bitte, Hauptmann?” he asked sorry to the CO

Looking at Cori, Dante raised his hands in question. “Was my delivery really that bad?”

Cori held out her hand flat before her and wiggled it slowly back and forth. “Could do with some work,” she teased. “So I guess I should leave his sonic shower alone, right?” Ahh, this was fun! It had been awhile since she had had any and this was much better than worrying about the other drama in her life.

“My s- hey! No don’t touch my sonic shower whatsoever!” The man distracted leavening a chance for Dante to make a move out of this “This is really awesome, I’m having a discussion with a sentient AI!”

“Not an AI,” Cori said. “At least not in the traditional sense you are used to. Lieutenant Corinne Dalton, born Vivian Hope Ballard in 2361. Birth parents, deceased. Adoptive parents… deceased. Accepted to Starfleet Academy in 2379. Graduated four years later in the top two percent of her class with a science degree in biology with two minors in geology and ecology. Assigned to the USS Kiratu upon graduation and promotion to Ensign. After three years, re-assigned to USS Saracen. Five months into her tour of duty aboard the Saracen there was an accident on the holodeck involving … an issue with the safeties. Suffice to say that she died. Or rather, her body died and in a strange set of circumstances, her consciousness was preserved, taking up every tiny space in the ship’s computer. And so now you have me. I am real, despite what most are inclined to think,” she said with a warm smile. “And I tease about the shower… maybe.” Her electric blue eyes momentarily flashed slightly brighter.

“Cori serves as our ships AI, of sorts. She’s much more than that though, and it takes a little getting used to,” Dante told the new XO. “She can access virtually every system we have, utilize our holo emitters to take shape, and make your shower a little less soothing if you rub her the wrong way,” he smirked at the man. “She is in a unique situation that we are all coming to grips with.”

“That’s a story I’ve never heard, really.” He looked better Cori, that explained lots of things about her “so she bites only when she’s tickled uh? Will take care about avoiding to disturb too much her environment then.” He shot the Commander leg with the nerf gun “Oops… didn’t meant to. Anyway, I should know anything else special about your fancy ship, Captain? Your crew, I would say, is the most interesting I’ve ever met so far.”

“They have their moments,” Dante grinned. “All of them are fine Officers and do their jobs well. Our Chief of Science is young for his rank but capable, Our Security Chief rose quickly through the ranks as well and also holds a psych qualification, so watch out for him. The Chief Engineer has been here so long he knows the ship like the back of his hand and our Chief Medical Officer can stitch you up with one hand and slap you for getting into that situation in the first place with the other, believe me I know. But they are a good crew, our crew.”
