Rh’vaurek had delayed the customary introductory tour of the Warbird long enough. Tradition dictates that it’s supposed to be done immediately, or within the first few days of the ship being handed over to the Commander, but he had too much on his plate to do so.

So that’s what found him walking into the kitchens to both familiarize himself with their location, but also to introduce himself to the Reman chef.

When the Commander entered the kitchens the second of the reman assistant chef spoke up smartly. “..Commander!” He said saluting.

Turning the first reman chef did the same, “..Commander! Welcome to the kitchen. Do you need something?” he asked, carefully returning to a large trough like pot on a burner where bubbling stock and various vegetable were cooking and simmering slowly. The smell was quite nice and pleasing. The stock was a darker earthly tone that pleased the palate to their senses.

Remans… Rh’vaurek thought, he shared much of the Romulan attitude about the servant race. Though he would never say such in public, he wondered why they were still used as cooks aboard a warbird. “Nothing pressing, I’m just familiarizing myself with the lesser members of the crew, I need to know who I am working with, after all.”
