With their transport complete, the team was soon set down among a clearing that was still holding some rocks and such for cover if they happened to suddenly need it. Their were hills nearby to the north, streams and pools of water to their north east, a larger clearing of plants and thicker brush to the south east, and heavier forests to the south west. Given the need to survey and gather a number of samples across all this region one place was as good as any to start. The air was cool but not unreasonably so, a slight breeze from the north east was coming theirs way gently, and the faint sounds of local wild life were also evident.

Rul began a scan immediately upon arriving. He marked potential sample locations and transmitted the information to the rest of the team.

Looking through the scans in more detail from their immediate area, the tempeture was about 60 (whatever the romulan term is for F/C i forget atm), slightly chilly to some but otherwise fine, the breeze though made it feel more like 55 or so. Immediate local wildlife signs was a small birds that seemed at home in the nearby thicker trees about 16 in total in various cluster of nests. The scans showed they had a biological make up which probably would be useful for cooking meat in a meal, allowing an eater to have a higher endurance for a short time for calorie burning purposes. Lastly about 40 or so feet away to their left a large bush with tiny sticker thorns but with a quite lovely looking purple toned flower showed scans that indicated the plant sap, and the flower itself would likely have many medicinal or poisonous uses once properly broken down and mixed with other such things.

Rh’vaurek’s voice came over the comms. “SubCommander Narva, we will maintain a transporter lock for as long as we can. If you need transport, we are here.”

The question now that they were planet side was where would they go to start?

As the leader of the mission, Narva needed to set the direction. =^=Acknowledged Commander=^= he responded to the call from the ship. He turned his attention back to the mission at hand. “Any points of interest worth investigating?”

Rul looked up from the scanner and said “We have multiple native species in the area, Subcommander. Additionally, a sample of that botanical could prove useful.” and he indicated the bush with purple flowers.

Karek had his gear with him, ready for anything. The alien planet was so beautiful and pristine. He was proud that this was part of the jewels of the Romulan empire. Now, if they only could spread the message of the empire to the people too.

“Are we gonna go meet the natives?” he asked, a bit impatient with their reconaissance.

Meeting the locals was not going to happen. That was not part of the mission. “No, not unless we can do so without them seeing us.” It was best to continue on their routine survey mission. “We need to survey the flora, fauna and minerals of the planet. So we’ll start with those botanicals.”
