As chief of Weapons Control, Karek inspected the middle and inner port/starboard sections of decks 4 and 5, where the brig, armory, and main weapons control were found. It had pleased Karek that all of these areas were combined.

He met the crewmen responsible for keeping guard, security, as well as the ones in charge of the weapons – both handheld weapons and the ship’s owns weapons. It was magificident. The built-in consoles were shiningly new and looked easy to use – easier than on his last ship. There had been an upgrade, or perhaps, it was only the newness of it all that made it look easier.

He was hoping someone from command staff would take up his invitation of inaugurating his department’s holographic shooting range. He had made such a statement in their informal meeting prior to boarding the ship, but it was hard to tell how they had responded to it…

The first of the Command staff to arrive oddly enough was the Medical Control Officer. She was perhaps slightly above average height for women but not tall by any standard. She looked thin, at least by soldier standards. She was also one of if not the oldest crewmember and by almost half a century, in her middle years by Romulan Standards. She held her hands clasped behind her back and held an almost smile. Her dark hair was slightly longer than was the fashion today which gave her a more motherly look than people might be used to from a member of the Imperial navy “Subcentorion Karek” she inclined her head “I understand you have something of a treat for us today?” Her tone held the same almost smiling quality, nearly pleasant but not quite there as her not-smile did.
