The ship was able to link with the sensors on the fighter, and they showed that the pilot (Xandra) that was affected had strong life signs. Curiously, there did not seem to be an external interference over the control of the fighter.
-GM

“Fighter board systems seem to read normal.” He continued to work. “If i can get the access code through, maybe we can pilot the ship remotely.” Kolar wasn’t much of a pilot. In fact he might be the single worse pilot on the ship, the only skill he had worse then his driving was his shooting of hand weapon.... but in this case all he was trying to do was turn the ship 180 degrees about… that was just like spinning a dial. Even he could do that competently.

Balfor Kolar CSO

OOC: putting Ric’s post in as well:

=^=Roger that, skipper. I’m transmitting the approximate size of the dead zone where Green Leader and the Dragoon are caught. You should be able to approach within 5000 meters. The rest of the fighters are trying to get a closer look at where the microwaves are coming from. Once you’re in range, we’ll transmit that info to you to get a better shot off. Copy?=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

Jason let out a breath. The gambit had worked, but now it was time to figure out what the damage was. “Try to raise the Dragoon,” he ordered. “Let’s find out if there’s anybody alive in there.”

Jason Harn, XO

As the COS waited on additional coordinates from the CAG, he sent out a hail to the Dragoon. He was interested in seeing if the hail would even be recognized the dead vessel. “Hailing her now Commander.”

COS Ch’zaolrirh

There was no reply from the Dragoon. The systems were offline and there was no life signs.

The Andorian furled his brow, “No response commander. Their communication systems are not online.”

The fighter was still moving towards the planet but the sensors could not detect any external influences on the systems of the fighters.
- GM

“Can we take control of Green Leader’s fighter using its prefix code?” Jason asked. “If Xandra is unconscious, maybe we can fly it be remote control.”

Jason Harn, XO

From behind Jason an ensign in charge of interactions with the flight deck and CIC responded to the order, “Requesting assistance from the CIC. They will attempt a control override on the fighter.”

“Helm bring us to 6000 meters of the microwave zone identified by the CAG. Tac once we reach that range fire the microwave torpedo. (This missile will launch a counter-microwave burst but no explosion)

The officer at the helm nodded “Aye sir. 6000 meters.” He said as he brought the large ship in closer and waited for additional orders.

The Captain was ready for action and swiftly.

“Torpedo is tracking on the target.” Kolar watched for a moment. It didn’t take a wild winding course as some might theorize the torpedo was working on long straight lines, with only slight adjustments every fraction of second or so.

“I think we may be dealing with a psionic weapon here. For all intentes that fighter pilot should be able to control that ship. So the only reason I can see for it still moving forward is that the pilot is still moving it forward without being able not too.” He surmised.

“Science start setting up a counter measure to that beam. We cannot keep shooting torpoedos is that works. Do the modification to the dish if that is our best possible alternative. I want to board the Dragoon with a science and engineering team and we cant do that if they get caught back up in the beam.”

Parker CO

Helm

“Psionics?” Kolar didn’t see any evidence of that although he didn’t have evidence to the contrary. He was glad he wasn’t asked to counter that… Microwaves he could counter theoretically. “There aren’t really projective counters to microwaves.. .they just pass through things. We could use the shields and the Olinski as a block to the waves. But if our calculations are off we will lose power or consciousness… or whatever happened to the other that came before us.”

=^=Counselor Michaels, report to the bridge!=^= Jason called. If the trouble was telepathic in nature, Trevor Michaels would be either the most susceptible or the most resistant. Either way he might be able to sense a powerful psionic presence before the Olinski got too close.

Jason Harn, XO

As the Olinski creeped forward, Ch’zaolrirh began receiving additional coordinates from the CAG. Analyzing them for a moment, he decided to target the location of what appeared to be the largest central emitter on the planet. After a moment his terminal displayed a targeting confirmation. The torpedo was ready to go. “Torpedo away Sir.” Anyone was paying close attention to the forward monitor, they would be able to see a brief flash as the torpedo shot passed the bow of the ship.

The COS continued to watch its trajectory on his terminal carefully. If things went according to plan, the Torpedo would burst open above the emitter below - close enough to disrupt the device, but far enough to prevent any collateral damage.

COS Ch’zaolrirh

As the tension grew, Michael’s voice came over the comms. =/\=Gould to bridge. I’ve been watching the fighters and I think I have a way to get Lt Primage out.=/\=

-Lt. Michael Gould, CE

As the message came in, the sensors showed that there was a halt in the microwave emissions.
-GM

As the emissions stopped, there was a moment of silence, then the voice of Apex came over the comms where they were monitoring the pilots. =/\=Hum is gone for me. Repeat, hum is gone! I think the torpedo did its job. Sehlat, if you can hear this, we’re gonna bring you home.=/\=

-Lt.(j.g.) Ael Khev, Apex

The Captain reminded silent. Until he had his people back safe he had no intentions of celebrating.

Parker CO

Jason let out a breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding. =^=Go ahead, Gould,=^= he called.

Jason Harn, XO

=/\=I think we can use a probe as a signal repeater to boost the transporters. Give the probe instructions to lock onto her biosign, and retransmit the exact coordinates to a transporter control station. The probe then boosts the ship’s transport signal so that we can lock on to her. We can beam her out of the fighter, get her to medical, whatever we need to do, then reclaim the fighter separately. Option B: lock onto the whole fighter and beam it into a cargo bay. Same system, larger scale.=/\=

-Lt. Michael Gould, CE

Kolar CSO

What the tactical station’s sensors started to show was that there was a lot of movement in the planet below. People were scampering around. There was also a sudden burst of activity: there were actually computers and machines that were seen. Sensors showed that these devices could have been masking their own activity, giving the impression that the planet was in a very primitive state.
GM

OOC: Now that is interesting.

Sidney

The sudden flurry of sensor activity caught the COS’s attention. It was as though they had poked a bee’s nest. Not only was he detecting an increase in biological activity, but there was a stammering amount of electronic activity as well. It was incredible to think that a society like this could have so easily hid itself from not one, but two Federation Starships.

He called out to the CO, “Captain, the planet has come to life. I am picking up a large amount of electronic activity from the planet. We will likely need to act fast before the microwave emitters are reset.” The Andorian began running a surface scan of the planet. He was attempting to determine just how advanced the society was, and perhaps get a handle on how long the Olinski’s crew would be able to safely interact with Xandra and the Dragoon.

COS Ch’zaolrirh

The Counselor had been checking in with a few of his patients when he was requested to the Bridge. He stepped out of the lift when the Security Chief stated that the planet had come to life.

With a concerned look on his face, the Counselor moved over to the command hub. “Commander?” The Lieutenant asked, looking over at the XO.
