“Counselor, T’fanni..do you know why he did that?” Doolittle asked hoping someone like Michaels would take over. After all Darn it he was a Dr, not an environmental engineer.

Doolittle

“It would seem that the entity controlling Crewman Redding wishes to siphon energy for its own purposes but the reason is unclear,” the green blooded nurse replied. “We can only speculate, but based on what has happened so far I would suppose that an increase in power to the guest quarters would accelerate the growth of the contagion.”

Nurse T’fanni, NPC, who sees everything through a medical filter

“So if we cut power to the guest quarters, would that decrease the growth?” Michaels speculated. The Counselor was now curious to know the status of their visitors in the guest quarters but assumed Harn would be sending someone down to investigate.

CNS

“If my supposition is correct,” Nurse T’fanni shrugged.

“Engineer reduce power to the quarters in reverse fashion of what Redding did. Swap his changes.” Doolittle ordered.

The Engineer looked uncertain to follow the order.

“On my authority as CMO in a medical emergency.” Doolittle clarified.

The engineer followed the instruction.

“Michaels monitor the ships sensors in those areas and lets see what happens.” Doolitte siad.

Doolittle

=^=Attention all hands,=^= Jason’s voice announced over the intercome.. =^=We have just been informed that the wreckage of the USS Hotspur a survey ship currently assigned to map the Gamma Quadrant has recovered by the USS Titan. I ask that all aboard stop whatever you’re doing and stand at attention in honor of the brave men and women who served aboard her. A moment of silence, please!=^= There was a brief pause before the commander’s voice spoke again. =^=For the next thirty seconds, let us remember the officers and crew of the Hotspur.=^=

Jason Harn, aCO, making a ship wide announcement

Redding did not struggle with his captors. When the announcement was made, the engineer who was about to reverse Redding’s manipulations turned and looked at Doolittle and shrugged. He was going to obey the aCO’s orders.

GM

“Do it as quickly as possible. We are in a medical emergency and I am sorry but the dead have to wait for the living. Not the other way around.” Doolittle said.

Doolittle understood the need to honor the dead and all the nuances of species in relation to death. However he still had no idea what was happening to the affected crew and that was his first responsibility.

Doolittle

Michaels was able to monitor the readings while standing still. Something told him that Harn had a little trick up his sleeve, maybe a way to see who was affected and who wasn’t? When the 30 seconds was up, the Counselor moved closer to the console to get a better view of what was going on inside the guest quarters.

CNS

Nurse T’fanni, unsurprisingly, stood at attention stoically seeming to completely ignore the fact that one of her patients had left sickbay and attempted to clandestinely alter power settings in main engineering.

Nurse T’fanni, passive NPC

There were two Starfleet officers with the guest and her baby. They were apparently having a conversation.

In the meantime, Nurse T’fanni was able to restore the power settings.

Redding remained unresponsive physically but his eyes showed that he was mentally in turmoil.

GM

Before Doolittle could talk to him he received a call from the bridge. =^=Harn to Doolittle, Doctor your patients are going AWOL. We’ve found one in the transporter room and one in the shuttlebay. If I didn’t know better I’d think didn’t like your company.=^ =

Jason Harn, aCO

Trevor chuckled at Harn’s joke and looked over at Doolittle. “At least we know where they are…” The Counselor said. As he continued to look at the guest quarters scans a thought came to Trevor’s mind.

“Any way we can listen in on their conversation?” He asked to no one in particular.

CNS

OOC: I was hoping one of the NEs would do it … :) It would take someone of higher security clearance to do it.

GM

“That would be a violation of privacy,” Nurse T’fanni said unhelpfully.

Nurse T’fanni, no replacement for a PC

“I think reasonable suspicion trumps privacy, nurse.” The Counselor stated. Trevor looked over again at the view, but decided against following in his hunch for now.

“With all due respect, that is a justification that…” Nurse T’fanni’s remark was interrupted when Doolittle gave an order.

“This is enough. Sedate them all with neuron inhibitors. I need to get them in a restful state before they have a medical emergency.” He said out loud very frustrated with the situation.

=^=All medical teams sedate all the patients with 50cc of neuron inhibitors. Take them back to Sick Bay.=^=

He had the channel opened to the Bridge so Harn could hear his order as well.

Doolittle

CNS

“Yes Doctor,” the greenblooded nurse replied as she pulled a hypo out of her a small pouch she had on her belt. A neural inhibitor was a good call. Hopefully it would inhibit the commands of whatever entity or biological imperative was controlling Redding’s nervous system. She conjectured that her people’s nerve pinch technique would only cause temporary paralysis rather than unconsciousness and that the afflicted crewmembers would resume movement the instant pressure was relieved. Without any preamble or the slightest smidge of bedside manner she walked up behind Crewman Redding and injected the sedative into his neck with a jabbing motion similar to that of one using an icepick.

Nurse T’fanni, getting ready to catch Redding if he collapses.
