Upon scanning, he found that there was a very faint energy signature emanating from the patients. They were all led to the room where the two guests from the Sierra was. It was very faint and was not physically harmful. The levels were so low that the ship’s systems did not consider it to be significant to be a security risk. The energy was not an electromagnetic waveform. It was a longitudinal waveform that travelled through matter by causing resonance with the molecules in whatever matter it passed through. As this was a new phenomenon, the LCARs did not have any entry about it. The computer was not able to identify it, assuming it to be an insignificant ambient energy form.

Jason noticed the change in Kolar’s expression immediately. “Find something Mister Balfor?” he asked with a grin as he rose from the command chair and walked over to the science station in order to sneak a peek over his shoulder.

“Yes.” What was insignificant when nothing was going on became very significant when something was.

Jason Harn aCO, violating Kolar’s personal space unnecessarily if Kolar places the energy signature on the main screen with the rest of the documented cases

Tilting his head slightly so he could direct his words to the XO without going face to face. “very faint energy signature emanating from the patients. I can send the information to sick bay… perhaps create an inverse wave to neutralize it?”

Balfor Kolar CSO

“Transfer the data to a PADD,” Jason decided. “I’ve been meaning to visit sick bay anyways. Maybe I’m being paranoid but I don’t want any of our visitors to overhear this.”

Toro looked at Kolar and Harn “Did we not have medical check out our guests before we brought them aboard? If so why didn’t the medical scans pick up on such a thing?” She asked “So it is possible that the Sierra has been infected but no one is showing signs…or they are all infected and we need to be aware that they could paralyze our people over there.”

CIO

“I dunno, but these kinds of things are easy to miss if we don’t look for them. I’m interested in finding out if these energy signatures leave and come back. For all we know we could have a couple of interphasic predators hiding in the bodies of unwitting innocents.”

Kolar tilted his head. “Transporters are notorious for not detecting dangers that are not already identified in the computer data base.” Its how half the problems on a ship start he though to himself.

Mirri docked with the Olinski and contacted Sickbay =^=Sickbay this is Lt Lawerance. I have returned to the ship and have been directed to contact you before leaving the shuttle.=^= She said.

A check on the logs showed that the energy pattern did not show on the scans when the guests came on board.

OOC: Who are the patients who have this strange energy signature? We’re going to be using their names non stop for about a month or so.

“Commander, the transporters didn’t detect the energy, because there is no evidence that it existed prior to transport. Which means that the danger would have come from within the ship.”

“The danger PROBABLY didn’t come from the ship,” Jason corrected. “We already agreed that it was unlikely the Sierra was responsible but the timing is too close to…”

=^= Michaels to Bridge, our patients are moving around in a trance like state. =^= The Counselor called out as they followed Redding. =^= Doolittle, Nurse T’fanni and myself are following Redding right now, but be advised he may not be the only one walking about....=^=

=^=Acknowledged, Michaels, Bridge out,=^= Jason replied bit more quickly than he wanted. He tapped his combadge with what could be a gesture of irritation… or stress. =^=Harn to Security, I want all of the paralysis patients under guard! I don’t want any of them to leave sickbay. Is that understood?=^=

“If we order all the crew to stand still for five seconds. I could scan and identify every crewmember who was moving. That would detect anyone else that we haven’t already located.” Kolar offered.

Kolar CSO

“We don’t want to tip our hand,” Jason mused thoughtfully. “Got it!” he snapped his fingers as his long strides took him back to the command chair. “Give me a second Mister Balfor, and I’ll have the perfect smokescreen,” he added as he used the LCARS panel there to access Starfleet’s database. “Here we go, the USS Hotspur, sent into the Gamma Quadrant and overdue by three weeks. Perfect.”

He tapped a button on his armrest. =^=Attention all hands,=^= he announced over the intercom to everyone aboard the Olinski. =^=We have just been informed that the wreckage of the USS Hotspur a survey ship currently assigned to map the Gamma Quadrant has recovered by the USS Titan. I ask that all aboard stop whatever you’re doing and stand at attention in honor of the brave men and women who served aboard her. A moment of silence, please!=^= He paused in order to glance at Kolar and give him a nod to tell him to begin scanning. =^=For the next thirty seconds, let us remember the officers and crew of the Hotspur.=^=

OOC: The Hotspur is a ship name so awful I figure that no GM will dare use it.

“Hotspur, there is no such ship in the fleet.” Kolar commented not quite getting the fact the Harn was being overly creative.

IC: Sensors detected two individuals not keeping still. One was at the transporter room fiddling with transporter controls and another was at the shuttle bay tinkering with the bay door controls.

“I’ve id two… shuttle bay, transporter room.” Kolar started over-ridding the power systems to both systems. “I’m trying to assume control of the systems.”

The transporter room NE was setting a timed transport but he did not complete the settings as Kolar took control. The NE at the shuttle bay was also doing a scheduled opening of the shuttle bay doors. Both continued to try to gain back control from Kolar but they were unable to because Kolar had higher access. That did not stop them from continuing to try to set the timed functions.

=^=Security to transporter room two and main shuttlebay ,=^= Jason ordered. =^=Transporter room one, prepare to transport two people to quarantine in sickbay. Standby until your subjects are identified.=^= He glanced at Kolar. “It looks like Doolittle has got a mass escape on his hands.” He pressed a button on his armrest again. =^=Harn to Doolittle, Doctor your patients are going AWOL. We’ve found one in the transporter room and one in the shuttlebay. If I didn’t know better I’d think didn’t like your company.=^ =

Toro began scanning the ship from her station and working on other scans and trying to figure out what was going on “Has medical made contact with Lawerance. I haven’t heard anything.” She asked as she looked at the data running across her screen. “Would you like me to go and get eyes on the situation, Commander?”

CIO

OOC: I see that the email I sent never reached you. That’s all right; I just discovered that all of the email being sent to ME FROM this site went straight into my “Junk” folder. Earlier this week, I sent you an email suggesting that that the transporter room “accidently” beam Mirri from her shuttle to sickbay before the situation was resolved and was waiting for feedback.

The number of patients rounded up were accounted for. The two in the transporter room and the shuttle bay were new “victims”. The other crew members were staying still for the time stipulated by the aCO.

“Yes,” Jason nodded. “That’s a good idea Toro. It will keep me from leaving the bridge to get eyes on the situation myself.”
