after leaving the atmosphere, Ric aimed his fighter for the Olinski’s fighter bay. Keying his mic, he called to the ship.

=^=CIC, this is Ricochet, returning from the surface. Am I clear to land?=^= Strangely, his request was met with silence.

Again, he called to CIC. =^=This is the CAG. CIC, do you copy?=^= And again, there was nothing but silence.

A third try was to contact the two fighters he was out in the black with. =^=Sehlat, Apex, do you copy? Can you hear me? CIC is not responding to my calls.=^=

When the the other two tried contacting CIC, Ric could them, but no response from the ship. The problem didn’t seem to be with the comms on their end.

As Ric’s fighter approached the fighter bay, he looked to CIC ,but could see no activity through the window. No one manning a console, no movement, nothing. CIC appeared devoid of any life.

He landed the fighter manually and popped the hatch. Exiting Ric tossed his helmet into the seat. Right now, he was more upset than worried. There SHOULD be someone manning CIC 24/7, even if no fighters were out. After bursting through the door, Ric stopped in his tracks. There were people in CIC, except the six in the room were scattered about the floor, not at all what he expected to see.

He knelt down beside the nearest body and looked at the man’s face. Ric could see fear in his eyes, but no response. “Ensign , can you hear me? What’s going on?”

The man’s eyes looked pleadingly back at Ric. That was the only response. The CAG moved to the next body on the floor and found this man in the same condition as the first. He made his way to the others, all in the same condition, conscious but unable to move.

=^=Sickbay, this is the CAG. I’ve got six men down in CIC. All appear to be conscious, but unable to move or respond. I need a medical team here, STAT.=^=

Ric pulled a tricorder out of one of the CIC cabinets and moved back to the first man. He began scanning the man while speaking calmly to the ensign. “Medical is on the way, buddy, hold on. I sure wish you could tell me what the hell is going on.”

Ricochet (CAG)

=^=Commander, until we can figure out what’s causing this, please don’t touch them… we have two EMHs on the way.=^= Lieutenant Michaels replied.

CNS

=^=Ahhhhh, that may be a problem, Counselor. I may have touched them when I entered CIC and saw them all on the floor.=^=

Xandra frowned as CIC failed to respond to her as well. When Ric got into CIC he would hear her growling comm. =^=CIC respond! This is Sehlat… permission to land?=^= Her growl and cursing was heard but indistinct. =^=CIC, come on guys this isn’t funny. Answer the comms!!=^=

She shook her head and called to Ric and Apex, unaware Ric was already inside, her own ship now on direct course for the Olinski, a few moments behind Ric and Apex from her stop. =^=Apex, are YOU reading me? Someone frigging respond!=^= The edge of her voice shifted. She was moving from angry to worried and Ric would notice, even if Apex didn’t.

Suddenly two EMH’s appeared in the CIC.

“We are EMH Green, he said indicating his green Dr’s scrubs and EMH Gold in his. We are here to assist.” The friendly EMH said and immediately looked at the patients.

EMH G^G

“Dammit, you guys, I’m a pilot. not a doctor!!” Ric growled. “You need to lead on this, not assist!”

Turning from the EMH’s, he responded to Xandra’s call. =^=Sehlat, Apex, CIC is down. Everybody in here is in some kind of catatonic state. Medical is checking them. I’m in here, too. Not sure if what hit them is going to hit me. I’ve cleared you both for landing, but for now, keep yourself isolated in the fighter bay, cop?=^=

OOC: Kenson, sorry if I threw a wrench in the works by having everyone in CIC in this state, but I was having a hard time figuring out how to get back involved in the sim, sooooo. . .

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra let out a breath she had been holding. Ric was fine. But it worried her that Ric was in a place that may need quarentining. =^=Copy Cag… are you in a position to get out of there?=^= She was landing in the hanger while waiting the answer. She saw Apex’s ship but not the pilot. If he was in his ship she couldn’t tell. The eerie emptiness and lack of activity made her skin crawl. She popped her canopy but was remaining in the seat till she was told otherwise. She absently chewed the side of one of her nails in a nervous habit.

OOC: Can’t understand why I missed this post … Reposting to keep thread integrated.

OOC: No problem, Terry. Had some connection problems myself. Was out of connection for four hours two days ago when I was supposed to post. You’re doing okay :)

GM

OOC: Every computer in my house lost internet access yesterday. Hmm…

R Smith AKA Jason Harn

It felt like hours, but was barely ten minutes later when Xandra tapped her comm and hit the CIC speakers. =^=Ric… what’s happening? What’s going on?=^=
Her voice was tense and full of worry.

Xandra
Pilot

Ric could hear the concern in her voice. =^=Wish I could tell you more, Sehlat. The holo-doctors are here looking at the crew. All they’ve told me is that this is happening all over the ship. Nobody’s sure where the source came from. Whether there was a bug on the Sierra, or on the surface. Nobody knows yet. All three of us were out of the cockpit and on the ground. That’s why I want you to stay isolated for the time being. I’m feeling fine so far. You okay? Apex, how about you?=^=

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra was more than relieved to hear his voice and it was evident in her response. “I’m fine, Ric…” the words probably more familiar than they should have been on open comms. But Xandra didn’t care. “I think Apex is still in his fighter. Ric… everyone in the bay is gone. Please tell me they are in sick bay and not in a pile somewhere.” She tried to make it a joke, but it came out forced.

Xandra
Pilot

=^=The bay was empty when I came in. Didn’t even think about that. I couldn’t get a response from CIC so I came straight up here after bailing out, and I found everybody like this. I’ll reach out to the flight crews to see where they are.”

After cutting the call to Xandra, Ric contacted Chief Cooter, the hear of the fighter maintenance crew.

=^=Ricochet to Cooter. Where are the flight crews, Chief?=^=

=^=Commander, this is Cooter. We’re all holed up in the pilot briefig room. I got a call from CIC. Said people were dropping unconscious. They told us to bug out and isolate ourselves. The briefing room was the largest nearby room that could hold us all. I’ve been trying to get some answers to what’s going on, but nobody’s answering my calls. What’s happening?=^=

=^=Wish I knew, Chief. Everyone in CIC is catatonic. EMH’s are here looking at them. If everybody on your team appears to be okay, stay there for the time being. Sooner or later, someone will give you the green light.=^=

=^=Roger, CAG.=^=

Ric then relayed the info he had just learned back to Xandra.

Ricochet (CAG)

Xandra hadn’t expected Ric to come back with a response. When relayed the conversation with Coot, she exhaled in relief. The idea of finding the bodies laying like a pile of loose parts had made her skin crawl.

She nodded slightly then responded. =^=Thanks, RIc… I’ll stay in the hanger, but I’m gonna look around. I’ll check in in ten min.=^= She took a breath and added, =^=I promise I won’t touch anything.=^=

She saw two EMHs tending to those who were collapsed. After doing scans and using hyposprays, the patients were transported out. One of the EMHs turned to her and scanned her. “You seem okay. Did you witness the individuals collapsing?”

GM

Xandra shook her head. “No… I arrived just after Ri… after the CAG. The hanger was empty. What’s going on? And is the CAG safe up in CIC?” She wanted reassurances from them, here and now, that Ric was going to be all right.

Xandra
Pilot

From CIC, Ric looked out the window and saw Xandra talking with the EMH. When she looked up, he waved and gave her a thumb’s up, indicating he was, at least for the current time, okay. He moved away from the window and a few moments later arrived in the fighter hanger.

“Xandra, you okay?”

Ricochet (CAG)

It took her balling her fists to create pain her palms to keep her from running at Ric to hug him. “I’m ok, Ric… I promise. I think Apex is staying in his fighter. You ok?” She looked him up and down making sure he didn’t look hurt. “What’s going on? Something sweep thru the ship while we were gone? And if so…” Suddenly she had an idea.

Her hand on his arm to tug him out of hearing of the EMHs, she whispered and shook her head. “Did the shuttle bring this back? Did we LET them bring this back?” Her fear was almost tangible on the edge of her tongue. “We need to check it out! I’ll grab a tricorder and go over every inch, Ric.” She turned suddenly to head for the EMHs to get a tricorder and do just that.

Xandra
Pilot

After several minutes, the tricorder did not show anything out of the ordinary. There was nothing that could be considered a foreign contagion.

GM

She was back at the front of the shuttle, the tricorder still silent in her hands. “I don’t understand… how did something get on the ship?” She glanced around to see if Ric was still nearby so she could tell him what she had discovered. Or rather, what she hadn’t…
