Kolar shrugged, Harn was well within his rights as CO to quarantine the Sierra if he saw fit and for safeties’ sake it was the most prudent course even though logic suggested that the issue was Olinski based… The first location of the infection was likely the source and that was the Olinski.

It appears to be a contagion, but medicine is not the field in which I hold a doctorate.=^= if Kolar was one thing, he was good with the books. Given education in the 24 century Kolar could work his way to a half a dozen doctorates if he wanted.

Toro continued looking through the database for anything that might be similar to what they were experiencing at this time. She also reached out to various contacts in the medical field to see if they had heard anything like these symptoms. (GM: She is asking specifically about symptoms that we have currently and if there have been any other outbreaks similar to this in the past.)

The CIO found several incidents in the database that were similar to what was happening. Some were single cases where only one in a community or starship. These were psychiatric in nature. Narrowing down to situations were there were multiple cases within a community, planet or starship, she found two cases. One had occurred 74 years before on a starship and it was found to be the invasion of a alien virus. The virus attacks the brain and cause a shut down of the brain. It was transmitted via contact. The infected person must have touch the face of another to infect. The other case was a recent one where four people in the Gara Colony (about 7 light years from their present location) were found to be in a similar state. There was no indication how it happened. The four people in the Colony knew each other but there was no other link to show why they ended up so. The only medical characteristic was that they had unusual electropathic residue readings.

Jason had been about to turn the bridge over to Kolar, but he changed his mind. Instead he backed up and frowned at the Bajoran science officer thoughtfully.

“We have brought aboard several people from the Sierra. I wonder if one of them was infected and somehow transmitted that to one of the crew and so on and so forth.” She said “We need to look for the electropathic residue readings, if they are present.”

“Transfer that information to sickbay,” Jason decided. “Doctor Doolittle assign someone in his department to chase the little info-bits and see if they can find anything.” He then turned to Kolar.

Now it was Jason who blinked. He thought a moment and then spoke. “No but you can put us on a parallel course. If we can’t contain this we may need all the help that Starbase 257 can provide us. Match the speed of the Sierra so we can verify that it remains on course. That way we can provide assistance if anything happens. Or vice versa,” he added miserably before turning to face his chief intelligence officer. “Toro take over for a minute. I want to have a brief pow-wow with my science officer. Mister Balfor, let’s have a brief chat in Parker’s ready room.” Gesturing with a finger, Jason headed to the door.

Mirri pushed the shuttle faster and set a course to match that of the Sierra. She worked to feed data back to the Olinski as she went, knowing that the helmsman would make good use of the ship’s power to catch up. =^=Aye sir. Matching speed and course with the shuttle, I will relay coordinates as they change.=^= She said and closed the link.
