Ch’zaolrirh maintained a look of concern from his post near the aft of the bridge. Something didn’t add up. Even if the entire crew of the Dragoon had been forced off the ship and onto the nearby planet, he couldn’t imagine a scenario where not one of their comm badges would be traceable. He gripped his console as he watched the fighters draw closer to the powered down vessel.

“I hope this isn’t one of those things where the natives built a giant transporter buffer and they protect themselves by beaming everybody away,” Jason commented. To the best of his knowledge, that had never actually happened; it was just a paranoid phobia he had acquired after coming to the 24th century.

“I don’t believe that has ever happened, Commander.” Kolar commented almost reading his mind. “So odds are that isn’t going to happen but it is likely that the planet isn’t as benign as it appears.”

“Hmm,” Kolar commented quietly. “The fighters are on continued approach. Given their lack of change in course and speed. It would suggest that everything is stable and safe.” He would prefer a report but he would use what he had.

Ch’zaolrirh remained quiet at his post. He still wasn’t thrilled having the shuttle out there, but he decided to put his concern aside and focus on his duties.

COS Ch’zaolrirh

“How are the life signs in those fighters?” Jason asked. “The pilots haven’t been beamed out or anything have they?” The lack of ‘change in course and speed’ sounded uncharacteristically ominous to the first officer’s ears.

“Looks normal. If they were absconded with the cover is near perfect.” Kolar spun back to his sensors. “I would be nice if they made a report.” He hit a button and pulled the fighters chatter on the overhead microphones.

The Captain waited for an update. His officers were doing their jobs as discussed.

Parker CO

“Voice contact with the pilots and runabout now.” He ordered. Realistically this is why the team went first. They could not risk the whole ship. However he needed something to go on before ordering actions.

“Any data to help us?” He asked out loud.

Parker CO

“Scanning.”

“Oh, oh.” Kolar looked up, “They are out of tractor and transporter range… The shuttle should still be in range.”

We’ve lost all contact with her. Chances are, that’s the same thing that has happened to the Dragoon. Scanning for life signs on Green Leaders bird.=^=

The Captain had heard Ric tell Mirri to beam Sehlat out. He waited for her to do that. There was a feeling of panic starting to develop among a few. It was not something the Captain allowed himself to do. He had to remain calm and even patient in the face of adversity. They knew this was a possibility.

“Kolar can we get a round about fix on the microwave source location? Security can we fire a beam from here to there to try and take what ever it is out?” He asked.

A good offense makes for a good defense as well.
