Jason had intended for Toro contact the CO of the Sierra, but she had contacted Kolar instead. What did her work in Starfleet Intelligence tell her that Jason didn’t know?

=^=Captain Whitney is going to send his own report. We can indicate that we located the Sierra on the surface and are in the process of evaluating her return to orbit. There were no significant reported issues and we are taking two ill passengers aboard. =^=

=^=The Sierra is attempting to return to orbit now… I haven’t intended any communication black out. Lawrence is commanding the shuttle, the rest of us are remaining on the Sierra in support.=^=

This entire time we assumed that when they had communications operational, we would hear from them. Let me know when you wish to beam up or if you intend to return by shuttle.=^=

=^=We copy that Captain. Olinski out.=^= Jason replied pleasantly. When the communications had ended, he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Well that was easy,” he murmured.

“It’s not always a bad thing to wait for the other shoe to drop.” The Counselor said turning to Harn. “I certainly wouldn’t want to be caught with our pants down thinking an assignment was going to be a cake walk.”

Jason shrugged, not willing to reveal how much having command of a starship again, even if only temporary had made him extra cautious. Instead he decided to play it cool. “True, but if we act too suspicious, they might wonder if we’re imposters or something. Or they wondering why we’re so paranoid…”

Toro looked up “Well, I’m going to be doing a bunch of scans and looking around. We’ll be ready.”

Jason gave a self deprecating chuckle. “Sure. Go ahead and run a voice check of Captain Whitney and see if matches the voice print in Starfleet’s files while you’re at it,” he teased, leaving it ambiguous about whether he was poking fun at Toro or himself.

A voice check would reveal that Captain Whitney was really who he said he was.

Toro will be scanning the area for any unidentified ships and threats to the Sierra.

Scans revealed nothing suspicion within 0.75 light years around.

=^= Wait one commander,=^= Kolar walked several steps away and lowered his voice. =^=There was no reason to put the ship on the deck in a storm unless the captain wanted to put it on the ground… why… the only reason why I can come up with is he wanted to hide something.=^=

=^=Mrs. Lawrence return to the landing site and execute a low level scan of the nearby area. You should start to be able to pick up something now that the storm is passing.=^=

=^=Ghost of Mr. Gould… do a cargo review. If there isn’t anything missing on the manifest, check the file for edits. There is always a record in the operation drives if someone changes the data. Its a little trick we in science use… don’t tell anyone.=^=
