OOC: Sorry to interfere … The Sierra’s CO had mentioned that he landed to make repairs. The ship was not able to maintain subspace contact because of the sandstorm. While the CO had thanked the Olinski for coming to their aid, he did not say that the ship was in great distress. Without the Olinski, they would have been able to get repairs done and get on their way. It was because they were uncontactable that caused Starfleet to get the Olinski to look for them …

“I’m no longer sure this is a search and rescue mission, Harn.” The Counselor stated. “We’ve found the Sierra and it looks like all they need to do is burn a hella amount of plasma, and they’ll be ready to lift back off… easy peasy…”

CNS

“I guess you’re right, Counselor, we’ve had so many missions that got more complicated that we’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop,” Jason shrugged feeling somewhat embarrassed at the suspicions he shared with Ric back in the CIC. “In any case we’ll remain in orbit in case they need assistance and let Starfleet Command know that we found them.” He turned to the officer at the communications console. “Contact the Sierra and ask them if they want us to act as a relay so they can contact Starfleet and let them know they’re all right.”

OOC: I’ve completely forgotten who controls communications right now. Is it Toro?

OOC: Toro can be at communications. I honestly don’t know who’s there either.

IC: Toro looked at Harn “Understood Commander. I’ll get with the crew on the surface.”

=^=Olinski to Kolar. Do you want us to act as a relay to Star Fleet Command for the Sierra to let them know that they are okay?=^= she asked.

Jason had intended for Toro contact the CO of the Sierra, but she had contacted Kolar instead. What did her work in Starfleet Intelligence tell her that Jason didn’t know?

=^=Captain Whitney is going to send his own report. We can indicate that we located the Sierra on the surface and are in the process of evaluating her return to orbit. There were no significant reported issues and we are taking two ill passengers aboard. =^=

This entire time we assumed that when they had communications operational, we would hear from them. Let me know when you wish to beam up or if you intend to return by shuttle.=^=
