“So, you wanna mix it up a little, huh?” The CAG rubbed his chin. “Y’know, the Rangers haven’t been used much lately, it might not be a bad idea to set up some sims and divide the wings into different teams. Do some evaluations, to see who works best together in the bombers. Not every pilot on the crew is certified in the Rangers, it would be a good idea to see if anybody else has got what it takes.”

Ricochet (CAG)

She laughed. “To be honest, I don’t know how long it’s been since either of us has been in some of those fighters. So yeah, you included, oh great one…” She playfully slugged his arm and pulled her leg up to curl it under her. “But seriously, if we’ve learned anything the last few missions it’s that we need to all be prepared for anything. And maybe talk to engineering about looking into shield modifications in case we come across those microwave emitters again or something similar. Being able to vary our shields more, like the ship does, maybe we can counter off affects when they happen.” Her brow furrowed slightly. “Maybe even a way to do it remotely in case someone is incapacitated.” She wondered if something like that could have helped her avoid the last month of anxieties.

“That’s not a bad idea,” he replied. “I’ll set up a briefing and invite the CE and some of his top dogs in. We can go over the film and transcripts of that encounter, and see what we can come up with. You’re input is going to be important, too.”

Ric leaned across the table and gave her a kiss. “I knew there was a reason for keeping you around.”
