“Maintain coms link. Keep system scans running. We dont want surprises coming from behind a planet or from outside this system.” He ordered out loud knowing it was mainly meant for Kolar.

OOC: Yes, that was the plan with the Flight Hanger thread. Renaming it works just as well. –Terry

The COS continued to monitor for security threats from his station. He was concerned for the safety of the runabout, but ultimately knew that it would be up to Ric to protect its crew once they exited the Olinski’s hanger bay.

Kolar spun slightly in his chair nodding as he spoke. “Fighters and shuttles have departed. Communications are five by five… as you humans say.”

“Helm enhance on first fighter when we have straight line sight.” The Captain ordered.

Mirri enhanced the first fighter that was in their line of sight. She put it on the forward view screen “There is the fighter Captain.”

OOC: Mirri is on the runabout as the pilot. She is at the tail end of the group keeping the closest to the Olinski in a modified com bridge. We will make this a NE.

The ship began getting data from the shuttles and fighters.

From the fighters’ tactical data received, the powered down ship was identified as the USS Dragoon with at 98% probability. There was no crew on the USS Dragoon.

Data from the shuttle showed that there was humanoid activity on the planet. Energy patterns suggested a pre-warp kind of civilisation: They were using organic fuels, pre-petroleum and definitely no form of electrical power detected. The only exception was a microwave energy pattern that was emanating from the planet.

“The CIC reports that the shuttle is getting data from the planet,” Jason reported from the XO’s chair.

“Certainly pre-warp… natural unprocessed fuels, might be as distant as a pre golden age civilization… with the exception of sub-surface microwave generation. I’m not certain its natural. I will report more as data comes in…” Kolar spun back to face his screen.

Ch’zaolrirh maintained a look of concern from his post near the aft of the bridge. Something didn’t add up. Even if the entire crew of the Dragoon had been forced off the ship and onto the nearby planet, he couldn’t imagine a scenario where not one of their comm badges would be traceable. He gripped his console as he watched the fighters draw closer to the powered down vessel.

“I hope this isn’t one of those things where the natives built a giant transporter buffer and they protect themselves by beaming everybody away,” Jason commented. To the best of his knowledge, that had never actually happened; it was just a paranoid phobia he had acquired after coming to the 24th century.
