Ever since Doctor Doolittle was elevated to aCMO he had been unusually quiet. For a Psychiatrist to be a CMO of a starship was almost unheard of. Yes they were medical doctors as well but it was generally considered that psychiatrist were not the right medical doctors. His bias suggested otherwise but even he had to admit that being a CMO was really a role best for surgeons etc..

Being a psychiatrist as CMO on one of the most important ships in SF was even more bizarre. However given the lack of CMO candidates in SF right now it seemed SF, the Captain and Harn had decided to make the move. Now with the Captain on leave he was left with Harn. Who he felt at ease with but the whole ship seemed a little anxious without the CO on this mission. Now introduce a wrinkle like this and he was looking at a spectacular success or a devastating disaster. Doolittle always said he was the right man for the job but now it was time to prove that.

Lucky for him the ship had good doctors and surgeons on board. All he had to do was manage them. How hard could that be for a man with a PhD.
