The Captain, as he always did, started his final mission log to warp things up. He preferred to speak into the small hand held recording device to do so even though he knew he could just have the computer record it as he spoke. He was in his quarters and sitting at his desk.

The mission is completed. We discovered that the planet had been colonized by Ionian’s some many centuries past. Their ship was marooned here and they were infected by a pathogen that was harmless to the native population but rendered most of them as infertile. Killing effectively the last chance the Iconian race had of remaining. However they took their genetics and manipulated the inhabitants DNA to include some of their own. It is not clear to me if they thought this would give them some type of presence in the future or if they had grander plans.

The devices that were on the planet were intended to guide the inhabitants and in the pure sense to control them and their development. They acted as a protective layer as well as the Dragoon and our pilots found out. Taking control of them and basically controlling their mind. I cannot say I approve of the measures that the Iconians used. However I am not an Iconian expert and I know they were very much different then us. So what may seem wrong or odd to us may have seen logical to them. At any rate the drones were also a protective layer.

I want to commend all the away teams. Special recognition and awards will be given to COS Lt. J.g. Srothell Ch’zaolrirh. He showed leadership and experience beyond his service record. I will be promoting him to full Lt. as soon as we arrive at the SB.

Also Lt. Michael Gould will receive a service recognition award for his work discovering how to power up and extract the vital information from the Iconian ship.

I cannot keep giving Cmd Harn awards but he once again shined in his leadership role on the Dragoon.

Lt. Alexandra “Little Sehlat” Primage. Pilot who was hit by the psionic weapon of the Iconians but managed to complete her mission and even get back into service by the end of it all the while overcoming the effects of a direct hit by the weapon. She will receive a Purple Heart.

Thanks to CNS Lt. Trevor Michaels for his help on the ship with Lt. Primage and on the away team with the inhabitants.

It has come to my attention that Lt. Winston Doolittle (Dr of psychiatric medicine) was also instrumental in helping Lt. Pimage recover. He will be receiving a medical service award.

I am very pleased with the crew and their performance. The CAG, Richard “Ricochet” O’Shea must be noted as well for the performance of his pilots and the whole wing.

This closes the mission and the log pertaining to it.
