OOC: Start some evals for those who had a tough time with the orphan issues of the last mission. I know several crew had a hard time reconciling the conditions of the children. Such as Lt. Primage and a few others. Also the pilots lost a member of their team on that mission. They would be a good area to look into.

“The shield array engineering can probably rig up solo. It’s just the probe redesign… because we could possibly use it as a failsafe too. If there’s one probe at the edge of the system… we could also use the probe’s power supply as a backup give us time to transmit a distress signal if main comms power fails. “You know that fighter idea might work if we replaced the fighters with runabouts,” Jason mused from the XO’s chair. “A runabout has a comm system almost equal to a starship’s.”

Ric glanced over at Xandra and grinned at her enthusiasm and suggestion. “Using both the fighters and runabouts would probably be doubly effective. Runabouts have better sensors and comm range, but fighters have better maneuverability. . . “

“Use a combination of both. However I want fighters as the tip of the spear. Kolar you are in charge of the overall project. Have it ready before we arrive at the Antioch system. Commander Harn work with Security to get us ready for boarding attempts etc.. I think everyone has orders now so lets get to it.”

Kolar nodded, he never liked using fighters in the first place, the were too vulnerable and he hated the risk to life. “Aye Aye, Sir.”

Toro remained at her station and was going over the information that she was able to find on the system that they were going to and what they might be walking into.

Mirri held their course steady, only making minor adjustements as needed to avoid various spots in space that were troublesome. She was glad that they were underway again. She didn’t like sitting around a station waiting for things to happen.

Long range sensors now were able to pick up the Antioch system. As was reported, there was no communication signatures emerging from the system. Whilst there was no vessels discernible at the present distance, there was no Starfleet ship signature detected. Patience dictated that another 10 minutes needed to pass before more information could be discernible.

10 minutes passed and as the ship was nearer, the sensors were able to discern a ship next to the second planet, where the colony was. However, power on the ship was offline. The planet showed indiscernible life signs but it seemed that there was no energy generated from the planet except that which was naturally found on the planet.

OOC: Ok lets assume that Kolar and his team with engineering were able to retrofit the sensor system and that the runabouts were ready with the fighters since the sim is moving on from the traveling to and arriving stage.

“Toro I want you to be on your toes and I need that info on the Antioch system I asked you for.” He siad over his shoulder.

The XO glanced took his hand off the miniature LCRS console on his armrest and looked at the others. “There was one time where a subspace gravity bubble caused a power drain,” he explained.
